[quote]I don’t think sniping is a huge part of a seals training. Could be wrong.

The Somalis that were holding the Captain of the Maersk Alabama in the lifeboat probably think differently.

My old regiment wins! That competition is extremely difficult and competitive. Several ignorant comments on the level of preparation. You do understand there are full time guard members right? Anyone competing will be the top guys a branch or unit has to offer, not some random team or guys they throw together. No excuses for those "elite" units that didn't do well, just didn't perform.

I love jim rockford’s comments about Special Forces not usually participating in these kinds of events and the group team that participated was “mosty likely on the post at the time”. Retards always come out in military threads

Two of the three SEAL snipers missed, the third wounded his target, the pirates were actually killed by small arms fire from SEALs that had boarded the lifeboat. It is detailed in a book by one of the SEALs that was there. The "3 shots, 3 kills" story that the media put out was just BS.

Better than the team from Holland who’s name sounds like they were named in honor of stinky cheese.

You know the cheese is named after the Limburg region and not the other way around? I mean, that cheese stinks like hell though I agree.

Wisconsin NG top 5.

Note the three NG units in the top 10 are all from states with lots of hunters. May be related.

somewhat surprised to see many guard units doing so well.

however, national guard does have combat arms units, and many times a lot of good infantry, green berets etc, go to the guard after their active service.

tim kennedy is one example.

not surprised the ranger regiment was first

I'm impressed by 3 NG units in tbe top ten and beating the USMC scout Sniper Instructor team

Sniper behind every blade of grass. Outside of maybe Switzerland which doesn't really qualify since they have conscription, the United States has the largest contingent of regular citizens with firearm experience.

BTW, have I ever told you about my IQ?
