Reports and articles are coming out saying it originated earlier. Shoot, this article postulated it and it was published in January.

Yeah for every article or study that says this started in Wuhan, there is one that said it started earlier.

The only thing that's been proven is they don't have a clue when or where it actually originated.

You understand heart disease, cancer, suicide, etc aren't contagious?

So we know SO little about this virus. All we know is that in AT LEAST two months it has killed 116 people. So we purposely destroy the economy over it? People have lose their jobs. Kids aren’t going to school. Stores can’t keep food on the shelves. Major US cities are on lock down. And people think that’s responsible policy?

Let's use our little brains and google the term 'exponential growth'.

All of your other sad ways of dying don't have the potential to result in exponential growth. I don't understand the lack of intelligence.

The same number of people that died of cancer last year, will die of cancer this year. The same number of people that died in a car accident last year will die this year. Why is this so hard to understand? Also, when was the last person that you know died from catching a car accident from a friend? How about cardiovascular disease? Any contagious heart conditions you aware of?

Well don't be a straw man, but I'll play along... Do you really think these actions are warranted based on the results?

It has been over two months. Hundreds of thousands to millions should be infected by now. Hospitalizations should be through the roof. The deaths should be increasing dramatically. The numbers aren’t showing that.

The data is showing that a lot of people are getting covid without being counted in the number of cases so the mortality rate is low.

The problem is that it is so contagious that everyone is getting it at the same time which will overwhelm the medical system and lead to more deaths.

Imagine all car accidents with serious injuries for a year happening over a 4 week period.

The media is hurting the economy by hyping every negative story and making this seem like it will last forever.

There are several drugs that are working including some that will work profilactivly.

By the beginning of May, there will be an established therapy that along with growing herd immunity that will replace containment as the national strategy.

This is moving so fast it could be earlier.

Once we move to treatment, covid will be seen like the other causes of mortality in the OP.

It's almost like we're trying to prevent that, and it's working.

Okay. Do you want me to use China's numbers that are on the back end of the "exponential" curve?

Okay sure thing. Since the virus's first recorded death in China;

3237 deaths in 56 days.. or 58 deaths per day. And that number will steadily decrease.

Bar hopping at closed bars? Or that one chick who licked a toilet seat (which I don't think would transmit it) and got shamed into submission?

how long has it been working? This virus didn't just show up two weeks ago.

It's easy to rationalize a lot of things when there are many more unknowns than known. Regardless of what happens, our suspension of constitutional principles will be credited.

I have a buddy who's brother was on Bourbon over the weekend. He said it was packed.

The fact that it's believed that most people, especially those who are younger, are following the social distancing guidelines is hilarious to me.
