Nope.

Because I’d probably not be good at it.

Know who else would be a bad cop?

Blake salamoni.

We can have these conversations without it being the end of the world— dudes not a good cop. Maybe he’s better at a different job.

While Mr. Brooks was handcuffed behind his back, Salamoni’s report states that he forcefully pulled Mr. Brooks to the ground and delivered multiple straight closed fist punches to Mr. Brooks head until the other two officers were able to remove the weapon from his rear pocket. According to Salamoni’s report, neither of the other officers struck Mr. Brooks while he was handcuffed behind his back

So now when a guy is handcuffed behind his back and there are at least 3 cops surrounding him, they are all "afraid for their life"? The only way Salamoni could somehow get a gun out of this guys pants was to go MMA on him? That's the whole "us vs them" mentality that leads to a lot of these types of confrontations in the first place.

Just what we want from our police, right?

If this is true, be should have been gone long before the shooting.

This board is littered with people whose jobs are statistically more likely to kill them. An even higher percentage manage not to violate citizen's rights while working their more dangerous job.

He signed up for it.
H3 does not have the right to abuse the authority of the badge. Since he has done that he needs to go. Go get a job where he cannot bully people, and where his feelings not his life is on the line

If you can't handle those situations, you shouldn't be a cop. End of story. Salamoni obviously is not mentally prepared to be LEO. Good cops don't act this way repeatedly.

BACK DA BLUEEEEEE

the job's dangers don't give you any excuse for being a shitty cop or human being. BS seemed to be the type to start and end his day being an a-hole.

Bartender, cashier, taxi driver, truck driver, construction worker, logger...

Incomplete list of jobs more dangerous than law enforcement.

The attitude that LEO's deserve consideration for lack of professionalism due to work environment only promotes lack of professionalism among LEO's.

Thank you for your service. I replied to him because he had so much to say about Salamoni as a person. The point was if you've never been in that situation before, you don't know how you will react. Obviously the way Salamoni reacts under that pressure isn't very good so he probably would be better suited in a different line of work.

Unless you are a cop on that beat you have no idea what you are facing on a nightly basis.

With that said, Salamoni took it too far with the language and the way he just rushes on the scene and acts all John McCain on these dudes. However, you really don't know if they are armed or not and if you give them an inch they just might pull a gun on you and kill you before you have time to react.

The way he berated the other cop is out of line too.

Agreed. And in similar thought, someone who resists arrest doesn't deserve not to be roughed up a little in the process.

There's been several perps in same situation that were able to commit suicide in back of cruiser. So yes, they should be afraid for their lives.

People like you who blindly support cops in all of these situations and make excuses for any and all bad behavior are just as bad as the people who blame the cops in every situation.

This guy is clearly unfit to be a cop. There are a lot more like him that are unfit to be policemen, as well. There are also a lot of great policemen who do their job as they should. The best solution to the current predicament our society is in, imo, is to weed out the bad cops and continue to train for the good ones (instead of just saying it's a hard job and letting every action slide on account of that). There won't be trust between the community and police in these areas until that happens.

The problem with that, is once the behavior becomes acceptable it becomes normal and not just limited to someone who may have deserved it. It will eventually begin to bleed into more and more interactions with people.
