2016 Kia Sedona/Chrysler T&C or 2014 Honda Odyssey?

My parents are looking at minivans because of all the grandkids. While they love the new Pacifica, prices are still too high for them to be a viable option.
They are looking at the 3 aforementioned vans primarily, and as we all know, you get what you pay for. For a similarly equipped Honda, Kia, and Chrysler; you have to get a '14, '16, and '16 model year. All are around $18k, and miles are in the 20,000 to 45,000 range. All 3 have a 5 yr 60,000 mile warranty. And before you say Kia's is better, it's only 100,000 miles for the first owner.
I like Kia, they are a much better car than they used to be, and are definitely more reliable than Chrysler. But a Honda is a Honda, and if they spend a few thousand more, they can get a 2014 EX-L or Touring for around $22k after trade. Instead of the LX at $18k.
All the Toyota Siennas around here are astronomically high. Cheapest one I've found is $29,000 for a 2014 with almost 60,000 miles. Apparently they are not an option.
I think I know how this will go, but what says the OT? Which of the 3 is the better deal?
Keep in mind, the extra 2 years in warranty for the newer ones might mean a massive difference in expenses later on.

Wife has a Honda Odessey and loves it.

Odessey
I haven't driven the others but the Odessey is nice.

The new Kias looked great.
You can't find a better deal than minivans when it comes to features.
I'd drive one of my wife didn't already have one. They are a comfortable ride and cheap as frick.

I've owned all three of those at one time in the past. Honda is definitely Number 1 in my book, but the new Kia is nice; much better than it used to be. Chrysler has gotten better the last few years but I still wouldn't pick it over the other two.

These whores that drive Odyssey's are the scourge of the road. Always drive like Jeff Gordon on fire.

Check out the front quater panel crash test. I think the Honda did the best by far. In most others the driver was facing sure death.

Had a Chrysler T&C for 8 years - very solid. Traded in for KIA Sorento. Really like the KIA. V6 is more responsive than Chrysler.
No experience with Honda, but Honda's rep speaks for itself.

a 2016 T&C is a great buy. Good reliability and the bugs of pre-2014 models are addressed. Best value in the market by far.
We have a 2015 and besides all the standard options the best part is we regularly get 28-30 MPGs on road trips.
Honda transmissions are still having issues. I know little about Kia.

Wife's family has the new Pacifica, and they like it. Wife has an older generation Grand Caravan, and it's a piece of junk. I'm looking towards an Odyssey for her next time.
You may check Enterprise's used car sales for the Sienna. They had a few priced around $20K before the Great Flood of 2016.

This is kinda what I'm hoping for if they go with Chrysler. Chrysler has made this model for a long time, and you would think the problems are all hammered out by now.
It's a little strange that I hear people consistently say they get 28ish mpg in the T&C, when it's rated at 25 on the interstate.

Our odyssey drives like a car and has held up incredibly well.
The new Kias look great, I'd consider based on cost buying new.
Get a used Odyssey with plenty of miles and it'll go for 100k more.

It has been a pleasant surprise considering it is like 280 HP. Best we have done so far is 31 MPGs on a trip to my parents and back.

My parents put over 12 years and 200k mi on their first Odyssey and the second one is currently about 5 years and 120k mi.
You can always purchase an extended warranty 3rd party if you want the peace of mind.

I bought a used VW (basically dodge caravan). One thing to keep in mind, minivans are really heavy, so the breaks, tires, etc can be an issue. Ours had a problem where the starter eventually had to be grounded to the frame, but I had to replace it before they found the problem. Basically ate all of my savings of buying a new car.

I looked these up on consumer reports. Chrysler still has reliability issues, the Kia lacks sufficient data but looks good generally. The 2014 Odessey had minor transmission issues and the Odessey has been one of the least reliable Hondas (the least reliable of the most reliable brand is still pretty good). My daughter had nightmarish issues with an older Odessey she bought used as did a friend of ours. Both of those cases could be related to how the vehicle was treated by the prior owner.
The Sienna is the gold standard for mini vans.
If the Sienna is a no go, I would probably go
1 Kia
1a/2 Honda
3 Chrysler
