You are right, the trashy fricks should of cleaned up after themselves like normal, decent human-beings. I don't know what/how things escalated to the point where a fight starts, but telling someone to have some decency should not result in a man's death. Fear of being killed should not be the reason someone avoids telling someone to do the right thing.

I have friends who don't like hunting or fishing and sometimes talk down about hunters and people who fish. But, they aren't the ones who throw their trash everywhere (at least for the most part). It is the "lets party by the river" crowd that does that.

I hate going to a lake or river and seeing trash.

telling a bunch of drunk trash on a beach in pearl river to act civilized probably isn't the smartest thing to do. The observers should have quietly call the police about it and let the police handle it.

Obviously hindsight is 20/20 but this should of been a simple peaceful solution that doesn't involve police involvement. Trashy fricks going to trashy frick

Did this happen on the sandbar you can see on the west side of I-59 southbound going over the Pearl River?

It may not be smart, but it sure as hell shouldn't get you in a fight. But there is no one as self-righteous and defensive as someone who knows they are wrong.

Seems like a lot of women are getting in fights and engaging in violent acts. This is really bad for society.

I like to hunt/fish and I like a good day on the river but I would never throw my trash in the water or on the beach because I have manors and respect nature.

Looking at those arrested, I wouldn't expect them to be "I'm sorry, Sir. You are correct, littering is a poor choice and we will get this cleaned up right away. I'm sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused you."

ETA: I agree that this shouldn't have ended in a death, let alone any physical confrontation, but this group of rejects looked like they weren't going to take kindly to being told to stop being trashy

I wouldn't expect it either, but that doesn't mean beat a man's head in.

For real. One time I was at the Siegen light once you exit I-10 and some young kids were riding in a Dodge Charger. The driver roles down his window and throws a whole bag of mcdonalds out. It sums up the youth of today quite well.

Bull shite. I love to fish and hunt. If I saw some a-holes on the river acting like a-holes, I'd say something too.

There are ways that can be done without coming across as a "get off my lawn" type.

Unfortunately, these a-holes mob mentality probably got the best of them, and an innocent man died because of it.

gosh dammit sometimes right is right and its hard to back down from that. about like saying yes sir and no ma'am. and i suppose who really knows, he may have just been pretty easy going about it, hey guys if you don't mind, try not to throw your trash down, i appreciate it and they just went into predator-prey, mob mentality mode

yep... exactly what i was thinking way back on page 4... baseball gets it

Go to any condo on the Gulf Coast and it will be filled with trashy people from Louisiana reveling in their trashiness.

I’m always amazed at the “locals” on the Grand Isle beach. Not that it’s a fantastic beach but they will party and just walk away.

Cans, bottles, food containers, diapers... whatever. They don’t even consider doing anything else with it.

True. I know the folks down in Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach hold their breath and pray the Louisiana trash is just passing through on the way to PCB or Destin

Guess I was more referring to the Wonder Years and That 70’s show eras.

It’s totally amazing any of us survived the Magnum PI, Miami Vice and Walker Texas Ranger, decades.
