I think it’s murder. They weren’t trying to kill her, but their behavior went beyond being reckless. They were trying to kill each other.

Definitely murder. Maybe 2nd degree. MAYBE.
But they were trying to kill someone. Just shot the wrong person.
I also think that attempted murder should carry nearly the same penalty as murder. You shouldn’t get a sentence reduction, just because you suck as killing.

I know it's no excuse but don't ride busses in large blue cities. Or trains. Or any kind of public transportation.
