No...the justification of the shooter, from the anti-police ferguson crowd, would be that cops deserve to be shot because they unfairly target blacks. That has nothing to do with militarization.

It's whatever buzzword that side of the argument wants to use for the day. Cops are: racist, militarized, steroid users, picked on in school, etc.

But I make sure that if it's at night I turn on my interior light and keep my hands in sight. I don't need to be shot by some gung ho idiot.

I'm not on "that side" fwiw. My grandfather was a police chief and my dad is a retired cop.

That's not a dumb thing to do at all. I think that may be where racial profiling is an issue. The black community shouldn't have to go out of their way to prove they aren't a threat compared to a white person. But that has nothing to do with the situation in Ferguson (or even in NYC where he was resisting arrest, although I don't feel it warranted the excessive use of force that was used). In those cases, the victim did the opposite, and made it harder for themselves. No matter what you think happened with Mike Brown, we know that he at least somewhat fought with the officer. He doesn't do that and he is alive.
My original post was in response to 7thward saying that it's not fair for police to be able to use the "fear for my life" argument, but the people they are arresting can't use it. My point is that as someone being arrested, I don't feel like you should feel your life is in danger as long as you comply.

Hey, don't start bringing facts into the argument. That hurts the narrative. There are a lot of people around here that say you should fight the cops if you feel they are doing something unlawful to you rather than going through the legal system.
