Jeez. That fricking sucks so bad. Parents should never have to bury their children.

Unimaginably sad. I didn’t realize the water got that deep so close to the road there.

I pray I’m never in that situation. My dad gave me a Lifehammer for this scenario when I was in my 20s. He died nearly 15 years ago, and I still have it in my center console. I used to think it was amusing, but I’m grateful. Especially now that I have kids.

My wife still has hers in her car. I keep a knife in my door with a glass break and a seat belt cutting hook.

Can’t even imagine. Saw this story earlier and read they went to the hospital, but it was corrected later. How tragic on Father’s Day. Prayers for the family.

I keep my glass break hammer with seat belt cutter in the center console as well...
Hopefully, they were both unconscious and did not suffer.

That’s not Bayou Manchac. It is a private pond on an estate right next to Manchac. It’s horrible and I cannot figure out how they ended up in there. God bless their families and loved ones

Was thinking the same thing. Strange that they called it Bayou Manchac.

Very weird.
I just drove by on my way to go eat. No skid marks, no broken fence or bushes... And that pond has a huge religious statue of Mother Mary on it. I can't figure out how they actually ended up in there. Virtually impossible to not hit something, or leave marks on the way in.

Same for me, but there is a pond with only bushes lining the perimeter at the road. It looks like that is the pond. What has me confused is how out of control they had to be to end up that perpendicular to the road

I’m pretty sure I know the father of one of these kids. The guy I know, his daughter died from a car accident on the BR side of the Basin this afternoon. I hope there weren’t two deadly accidents over there today. Extremely sad.

They had very few details when he was informed.

Edit: That’s them. Extremely heartbreaking.

That would be horrible if there were two, much less one. What school did the one you know of go to?

I think they were sisters. My daughter goes to school with them, she said that what’s posted on Snapchat.

I cannot even come close to imaging this.
