My brother introduced me to the site in 2007 to show me some Fark business. My OG account is in internet purgatory due to it being created with an AOL email. (If anyone knows how to log in using an old account I'd like to know)

So it was Farking first, then obviously tRant. But then I fell into recruiting, started posting on the Saints board and Movie/TV. It wasn't until I had to create a new account that I started to frequent the OTL. I keep coming here because this forum has a lot humor and breaks news that's relevant to me quicker than anywhere else.

met some of my best friends here and got into a lot of mischief as well!

I can spend 30s reading the OT and find out what is going on in BR. Once you learn how to spot the morons, the poli board has good linked articles to news and analysis.

I don’t read the rant. It’s like a bunch of 12 year olds arguing about their favorite MC super hero.

It's only been 18 years for me, but I'm sticking to it in order to get the 20 year pin and free pizza from Chicken.

I’m genuinely curious how this went down. Care to explain?

She made an account to join in on a trashy TV show discussion thread. We ended up exchanging emails to chat off board. At first, I wasn’t entirely convinced she wasn’t a catfish since we had so much in common.

13 years apparently.

The free Alabama Sports board is certainly one good reason, but taking away pinned and season long threads for the smaller sports has kind of killed it to some extent.

The political talk board keeps me coming back to the site in general. Not many political boards out there that still allow free discourse and don't just ban conservative thought outright.

I'd like the gaming and movie/TV boards to be good too, and I keep going back hoping they'll get better, but they're both kind of dead because they're dominated by separate groups of people who discourage honest discourse for different reasons.

regular OTGTs

I do miss regular get togethers with several posters I used to have before I moved.

But I got TWO this month, which was awesome!

My Arkansas option, Hogville, is really crappy. This site has it all.

The pay may not be the best, but the benefits are tough to beat.

Been here almost 20 years.

TD is an excellent way to kill time but also stay informed. Honestly the OT has the best hurricane coverage.

Wondering if anyone still has the tigerhoney pics? They were on an old desktop of mine that has been long gone.

This message board is what the internet was when I was a child. It’s what the internet is supposed to be.

I discovered this site when I was 13. Made another account in 2009 when I was 17. I’ve been here nearly 20 years. When I was growing up, most message boards were like this one. Now it seems like you can only find a message board like this if you have a niche hobby.

Also, this board is full of people from my home state. It’s very difficult for a bot to replicate that sort of behavior and way of talking without immediately noticing.

I love this place. I’m 21 years this week. It’s a great forum to kick around ideas and get a laugh. I also love having the knowledge that there are so many clever and fun people out there. The whole TD project feels optimistic and positive to me .

Oh damn, just realized I passed the decade mark a week ago.

Lurked here and there for years before that too. Started spending more time on TD for LSU recruiting news (I remember 5for5 being around the start of major investment), then discovered the MTV board, then the OT Lounge.

Mostly stay for the latter two, though the movie board has become fairly annoying so it’s not as much of the anchor board it once was.

I don't remember when I joined, it was before you had to register. Grew up in BTR so this is kind of my long distance connection to LSU and the city.
And, where else can you get this kind of entertainment for free?

I haven't lived in LA for over 12 years now and it's a good place to get takes on LSU football. In my corner of TX there aren't a ton of LSU fans for me to interact with IRL
