Yep. And for all the people saying "I have done this and they didn't say anything to me", well eh, if the store is busy they won't notice you. If you are one of a couple people and you are just hanging out and shitting in their restroom you will likely be asked to purchase something

Exactly. I'm sure the guys were causing some sort of trouble for the cops to have been called.
If it were two white guys and 8 cops showed up this wouldn't even be a story.

Why does 8 cops "seem excessive"?
I don't get that. Who gives a shite if 1000000 arrest them. That makes no difference.
And actually, I would think bringing more officers help to keep a situation from becoming physical. 2 men are a lot less likely to try and fight 8 men vs 2-3

Apparently you have never gotten pulled over in Ruston, LA. 8 cops always show up for every police stop. Regardless of what race you are.

When you're called because two men are refusing to leave a location you don't need to show up in force. You send a patrol to the location to assess and send backup if it's deemed necessary. Unless the dispatcher was told these guys were threatening people, which there is no evidence of that being the case, 8 cops for two people sitting in a Starbucks is definitely excessive.

I think the trigger for the 8 cops was that the couple that initially showed up and asked the 2 guys to leave had to call their supervisor b/c they wouldn't leave. This led to other police showing up with a job assist.
Why do people get away with disrespect? Starbucks asked the guys to leave after they purchased nothing. The cops asked several times. The 2 guys refused and were disrespectful yet "8 cops is overkill."

If only two cops showed up, and the situation went haywire, you would be bitching it was so dumb to only send 2 cops
I think it is always wise to bring more cops if possible to situations like this. I absolutely don't see the downside

You would think so but then situations like this occur involving ghetto trash and it becomes obvious they need the back up. They should have figured out some state charges to throw at them and make them pay lawyer fees to get them off.

What you're suggesting is every single disturbance should be attended to by by multiple units. That's lunacy.
