I believe a lot of the areas where listings are marked on the map in the Twitter link have been in the process of gentrification over the past several years. They are also in or near where a lot of the rioting took place.
I remember the areas along Minnehaha Ave. were sort of a mixture economically when I drove through there several years ago (where the Target and many other buildings were looted and burned during the first night of the rioting). Not sure what it's like now, well...what it was like right before the riots.

quote:I did what the guy said by going to Minneapolis on Zillow and dividing the last 7 days listings (159) by the total listings (1107) and I get 14.3%. For comparison, I chose Phoenix, AZ at random, and the same ratio is 587/5137 = 11.4%. The difference is about 30 extra houses for sale in Minneapolis. Not exactly "insanely high".
18% in 7 days in a city that size is insanely high. What else could it be?
More:
Salt Lake City 16%
Boise 14.9%
Chattanooga 9.5%
etc.
This is a nothingburger.

curious what % a similar sized city like New Orleans or St. Louis, % would be for the last 7 days.
New Orleans 108/2561 = 4.2%
St. Louis 102/925 = 11%

New Orleans been on lockdown. Really more difficult time to list a house.

Must be getting pretty rough out in Burlington, Vermont at 14.5%

Just don’t vote for the same nonsense that ruined Minneapolis whenever you move somewhere else.
They will 100% vote for the next Ilhan "brother fricker" Omar in whatever much better red state they move to and contribute to its demise.
Its what these people do.

Or how about a city comparable in size to Minneapolis in Colorado Springs at 16.7%.

No one wants to buy a house in New Orleans during the summer.

Colorado Springs at 16.7%.
Arlington, TX 154/870 = 17.7%
Fresno, CA 139/1012 = 13.7%

Almost 20% Republicans in Minny. I thought there would be less.
Posted on 6/12/20 at 9:42 pm to yaboidarrell

2500 for Nola
1100 for Minneapolis
yikes
2500 for Nola
1100 for Minneapolis
yikes

quote:Nah. Your numbers look reasonable to me. Just noting that Colorado Springs makes sense considering the large military population (summer is transfer season).
I don't know what that means, but I assume it's meant to excuse the figure and make Minneapolis stand out more, so how about:
Arlington, TX 154/870 = 17.7%
Fresno, CA 139/1012 = 13.7%
I'm not really invested in any of this recent shite. I've been actively working to remove politics from my life the past few years. I don't need the aggravation.
