California: Gross Inequality

California is already home to roughly one-third of the nation's welfare recipients, despite having just 12% of the nation's population.

Here’s the latest annual U.S. Department of Health and Human Services report to Congress on TANF and SSP [welfare] recipients, using the latest figures from 2015:

U.S.******4,170,107 recipients

CA*******1,803,873 recipients

City Journal recently noted, " nearly one out of four Californians is poor."

If they wanted to pay graft for business, they may as well move to Chicago which has more potential business.

I always find it funny how much people in Austin hate Californians.

1/4 of Californians are po’, yet they continue to live there despite the highest cost of living in the country outside of NYC.

Almost as if encouraging welfare keeps them economically complaicent.

I live in west Austin and, yes, plenty of Californians have arrived in the past 10 years.

Most of my new neighbors from the Golden State are right leaning.

I hope they are right side and not left.

I’m sick of the liberal infiltration of Texas. At least with Hispanics, I expect it. But the white, middle class that seems to want to spend all their tax dollars rehabilitating another country’s people? frick that.

You forgot to mention that this new call center will create massive wage pressure in Baton Rouge as other businesses try to catch up with this company's average yearly salary of 27k .

Texas needs to start running a campaign focused on this. And continue to beat the idea that they came to Texas to get away from Cali politics so stop voting that way.

I was in Frisco Tx in 2014. The hotel parking lot was full of Toyota’s that didn’t move for days. Finally after about the third day I found someone in a Toyota pullover at the hotel and asked what’s the deal with the cars. The cars were for employees from the California plant to come see the area and decide if they wanted to keep their jobs and move to tx. He basically told me back then it’s a mass exodus from California and Toyota was trying to move anything it had out of the state.

I had a coworker who moved here to Wyoming, ten years back.

That first big snow storm, she got into trouble, and slid off the road. Nothing major, but she was stuck.

A local came along a few minutes later, spotted her in the ditch, and pulled over ... that’s about when he noticed the California plates.

He turned right back on the road, and drove away.

I don’t think anyone likes Californians.
