If you had sisters growing up it shouldn't be. Prom dresses cost several hundred dollars, so a dress that you often preserve for decades makes reasonable sense to pay a price like that for. It's not like an outfit you'll give to Goodwill in a few years.

if women were smart "and honest" they would rent them like guys rent a tux for a wedding.

that dress will never see the light of day after the wedding unless your grand daughter is a poor meth head charity case who needs a dress

Weddings are all about the bride's mother. Just hand her your checkbook and stay out of the way LOL.

I fought as hard as i possibly could against a videographer. I lost of course. We spent $1500 on it and the thing is completely worthless. The wife now agrees it was a waste.

Now THAT'S a racket IMO. Dress trends and styles are not timeless or classic anymore.

No one's wearing the dress again in 20 years... may as well give/sell it to someone now before the fugly mermaid/trumpet style is out.

She didn't and I'm not married. So you owe me $50 (you already agreed, it's in the fine print).

Sadly, they make them in every size (even mine). But I think they're universally unflattering even on thin women (except in the catalog pics).

You used a preposition instead of a verb, so you're in the hole here. Just send me the $50 and we can forget about this whole silly thing.

That's just the purchase price. That doesn't even count all of the fitting/alteration costs, shipping if it's a destination wedding, etc.

Weddings in general are the biggest racket. Rings, dresses, food, entertainment, venues, all way over priced.
