too true. lives change and so do people. why does that make the girl the pariah because she's single?

This is legit. I've known hot girls who didn't acted like ugly girls, and it made them unattractive.

My folks told my brothers and I it was illegal to get married before 30. Fantastic advice for men. Oldest brother, 40, just married a 26 year old.

That's what her 20s are for. You know, as long as she doesn't overdo it. Can't have her damaging herself for men in the future.

these articles promote the most irrational, emotional self assurance (typically in women, but you find it also for feminized emo men).

It's sites like this that promote idiocy to women. My favorite one is the stupid fricking "If you can't handle me at my worst, then you don't deserve me at my best" quote (attributed to Marilyn monroe I believe) that so many women love to throw up all the time.

I read an fantastic article a while back called "If I can't handle you at your worst, then maybe you should stop being so horrible."

Now that quote is spot on, and something I can get behind. I've tried to live it ever since I read that article. So many women think that they're awesome because of articles like in the OP and they, in turn, believe that they deserve love and respect no matter how they act. It's laughable and sad. It's like the waiter that thinks he deserves a good tip no matter how shitty his service is, solely because he's a waiter. It's maddening.

i don't think it makes her a pariah

i think southern culture that dictates a girl should be married by 25 is silly and antiquated

"northeast culture" that says women need to get 2 graduate degrees and not get married until their 35 isn't antiquated, but it's dumber imo

So many women are too picky in their 20's and before they realize it, they're 36 with no hope for being married.

Birmingham is full of 30+ year old girls who are single and have no hope of finding a boyfriend anytime soon. The interesting thing is they somehow all find each other and become friends. They run in completely different social circles in their 20's and over time, they just sort of gravitate towards each other.
For a lot of guys, its like seeing a house that's been on the market for over a year. They see a single girl in their 30s and think "Something must be up for her not to have gotten married by now."

Physically, she'll be OK. Those things are resilient. They should make tires out of them.

my mom is my best friend and a bad bitch. I've always been down with some girl power. I was never about the Mrs. degree.

That one I dated that you know about was just the first one who broke my heart. I've never claimed I handled that breakup well either

That quote would be the best thing ever if women that really believed it had wear it on a shirt everywhere they went. Thanks for the warning maam and you're right, I don't "deserve" you at all.

Well, look at it this way:
If someone is in a long term relationship, what is the number one reason they might use for not getting married? Finances.

If someone goes to work right out of high school (especially if they're a tradesman or an operator), they are far more settled and established financially at 21 than the average guy who goes off to college. Getting a college education is far more rare in rural areas (much of the South and midwest) than it is in urban or suburban areas.

That means that the men, who don't go to college, are financially stable enough for marriage 3 to 4 years earlier than those who do, hence couples getting married in small towns and rural areas are often in their lower to mid 20s while in cities and suburbs, they are more likely to be in their late 20s to early 30s.

They are starting their careers far later by not extending adolescence through 4-5 years of undergrad (and potentially 2-4 years of graduate school).

There are certainly outliers, but most people don't even know who they really are until around age 25. And that's not a bad thing. You find out who you are by finding out who you are not. I think it's healthy to sow some oats while you're young so you don't have a hankering to do it later on.
