I haven't decided if I'm going yet. A million plus silver salmon are predicted for my area. Speaking of....fishing trip baw.
I'll either be listening to the game on the boat or at the game.
I wish I had time to get a fishing trip in but this time I will not. I think in 2021 my big vacation is going to be a PNW/Alaska Salmon/Halibut trip.

Imagine being such a low earner that having multiple kids has anything more than a negligible impact on your wealth and well-being and life experiences.

Imagine being such a piece of shite that you don't take your personal finances and situation into the decision on whether or not to have kids

I didn’t start the thread bro. Said up front that I don’t mind people not wanting kids but just don’t like people trying to validate their choice not to by trying to glam up their choice while subtlety demeaning parents. I have lived both sides. I have a better perspective. What I know is that those claiming a better life right now are already in the uncertain questioning their perspective stage and if carried through will turn into regret. I know this because I am 50 and know many people in their 50s and 60s who chose that path and not one of them has ever said that they did not regret the decision.

I enjoy commitments to many things but if it makes you feel better calling me shallow have at it, son.

ITT: people who think it's perfectly normal to leave your parents all alone in a facility of some kind.
I could not imagine ever, EVER doing this to my parents. Raise your kids better than little shits and this absolutely does not happen.
Is it the only or best reason to have kids is company later in life? No. But it is a pretty solid advantage that shouldn't be ignored

I'm sorry that you can't afford to have kids.

Having said all that, if I had a chance to live my life over I would never have kids.
That's a pretty crazy thing to say. I could easily say that i wish the wife and I would have had some fun for a while before having kids, but i'd never not want to have my two boys in any alternate life i could think of.
I think if my dad told me that, i'd probably tell him thanks for having me and good luck with the rest of your life, and never see him again.
Sounds like you just went through the motions of life and never did anything that made you happy. Of course i have no idea who you are so my opinion means nothing.

You’re absolutely delusional if you think this is something you have total control over.
Sure you can increase the odds of your kids acting responsible about this kind of stuff, but i know plenty of good families who’s kids grow up to be complete frick-ups, and vice versa.
