No way.
I was told everyone in the military was like George Washington

If you would have asked us to guess from:
Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines, Space Force and the Cost Guard
I would have guessed Marines in 0.1 seconds. Something about them that attracts the most misfits and messed up members of society.
Based on what I’ve seen-
Marines- weirdos but mostly good dudes and some bad asses. Lots of high school wrestlers
Air Force- huge nerds. Lotta fatties and kids who play Pokémon and shite
Navy- similar to Air Force
Army- degenerates

Army- degenerates
They did let in some degenerates during the OIF recruiting shortage but but when you're all volunteer and the largest ground force in an unpopular war, sometimes you do what you have to do. I've worked with every branch but the navy and found the shitbag ratio to be pretty consistent.

I was on Navy Shore Patrol in Rota Spain in the early 70’s for 2 years,3,000 sailors, about 175 Marines.Marines were involved in incidents in numbers way out of proportion to their population on the base.I don’t remember a black Marine ever getting in trouble,it was the young white badass wannabes.
We had a black sergeant on Shore Patrol, loved riding with him.Laid back, funny but a fighting machine.Never had to worry about getting hurt when he was your partner.I used to think if I got in a fight with him and he had a knife and I had a gun I would just shoot myself.

It’s illegal for a marine to do it but not a Democrat

I’m impressed to see a thread about the military that doesn't devolve into dozens of mysterious acronyms

'm assuming the rest of the battalion was also punished for this
I have a buddy in the unit who texted me about it. They are (and this isn’t the first arrests made this month regarding this issue).
Health and comfort (y’all can google that if you don’t know what it is), and battalion wide 100% piss test having to drop trou completely. It’s a shitshow.
And apparently the Bn formation had these guys called out in front of the Bn and then NCIS swooped in.
I’d assume a Battalion Commander is about to be relieved.

Statistically, the military has about the same percentages of crime, drug use, etc. as the general population.

Yup, just (I’d imagine) way more alcoholics

The new Commandant will kick arse and take names. These Marines deserve brig time, bust to E1 and Dishonorable Discharge if guilty. I hope he puts a stop to some of this PC BS too. Back to the basics. I was at Pendleton in 1970. I can just imagine the message sent by yanking these guys out of battalion formation.

Two super redneck brothers I went to high school with joined the Marines, went to Pendleton for basic, and came home some of the biggest potheads in my hometown. It was no surprise that I came home from college a big pothead, but these two guys turning like that was a shock.

I tried to enlist one Spring. Part of the way through my signing up they had to tell me they don't accept epileptics. I worked on a hog farm through the summer, got back in school, and made the Dean's List. Two years later I graduated, and went on to wealth and fame!

Camp Pendleton. The crown jewel of the USMC. That’s about all I want to add to this thread.
Carry on.
