They seem to be genuinely nice people on the show, hopefully that doesn't change. Don't blame her for setting that rate, they stay busy

That makes her a fact witness. She will get her daily fricking rate and mileage and like it. And just for that the lawyer will make it last all seven hours. frick that noise.

Gaines found the discrepancy, but isn’t a party to the suit. She offered to provide a written deposition but the supplier wanted her verbal testamony. So this was her response.
Sounds like it possibly wouldn't be too hard to make her an ACTUAL PARTY to the suit. Seems like a good tactic if you're looking to entice someone to name you as such, rather than just willfully submitting to sit down with a couple of lawyers, answer a few questions about it, and be done.

No, you can’t.

Subpoena her to appear.
Since she's a non-party, she'd have to be served and deposed per the rules in place in her state of residence.
But, other than paying a statutory witness fee to appear (and for travel/lodging, if necessary), she can take that fee and stick it up her arse.

It’s $150k/appearance not hour....it’s ridiculous but I would guess it’s her way of saying she doesn’t want to be deposed.

Probably not a good idea. She could be held in contempt.

I do similar things with my business all the time. Shitty customer that pays on average 120 days past due and I’m really busy with other things I’ll quote 10x normal rate.

Sounds like she’s trying to avoid having to be a witness

I do think people have a peculiar fascination with her.
