Do better food. That’s not too difficult to pull off. With all that automation you’re going to have a much larger pool of workers to pick from. You should be able to find people to show up and have a moderate amount of ambition to be excellent at what they do. If not, keep culling the herd until you do.

They won’t be able to automate their producers’ and supply chain’s costs.

They don't give a shite about that

It's no secret that the massive companies like Walmart, Amazon, big fast food chains WANT an increased minimum wage

And it's not because they're benevolent and love their employees.

Automation is coming to all industries. It has been happening for decades and was happening in low-wage jobs even before the $15 MW stuff but no doubt that has sped it up.

People without any skills will now move even further down the poverty line as I am sure those people will refuse to do manual labor jobs like say working on a farm even if that is the only option. Also, the current administration keeps letting in illegals that are willing to do those jobs so even those will become more scarce.

Expect UBI to be pushed more and more. Money won't matter soon and pretty much doesn't matter now as those in power have learned they no longer need our tax dollars to push agendas because they can just keep printing money. This is all by design to kill off what's left of the middle class.

Bingo. When a business needs to cut costs, they usually go to labor first. You typically don't see businesses selling their equipment because they had a bad quarter.

I've seen a business dumb enough to do this

That would be great if the food industry was the only industry that $15MW and automation is going to creep into. Not all small businesses will be able to compete.

Why don’t they just put the touch kiosks that are in the store outside at the drive thru?

Better yet, when you drive up, the kiosk menu presents on your own smart phone to place your order with whatever customization you would like.

85% my arse

Google has a hard time figuring out things I say sometimes and it's trained to know my voice and speech.
Meanwhile a machine that does not know the voice of these people with different accents trying to make orders.

Not gonna happen.

As is society when it supports anything BUT local small business. Truth of the matter is that society has to keys to end all of this tomorrow if it so chose to by refusing to support big business and industry by buying local and supporting their local economies and small businesses therein. IOW, McDonalds would evaporate tomorrow if everyone stopped going to McDonalds.

No, but many with a palate forever damaged by eating lava must think it is by they way they support it.
