According to Pa law, he’ll get 25 years in prison at minimum. If he had been just a year older (15), the mandatory minimum would have been 35 years. (If he had been 18 it would have been mandatory LWOP.)
Even if he gets out in 25 or 30 years, his friends will have long moved on and stopped caring about him by the time he’s released. It’s not like something where a young black man might be in prison for 18 months and then will brag about it to his friends afterword.
So he’s not really going to have anybody to brag about his time in prison to.

Worked for Domino's on Staring Lane when I was at LSU.
There was a delivery driver that got stabbed on a delivery. He was a wrestler for LSU back in the 80s. The stabbing ruined his Olympic dreams.
