12 of the first 18 US Presidents owned slaves

Eight of the twelve owned slaves while they were President. So, where do we draw the line? Do these men deserve to be wiped from our history no matter what they accomplished for this country outside of owning slaves? This demonstrates, in my own mind, how ridiculous some of the social movements of today are.

Great point. I think it's ridiculous what we are seeing today. Where does it stop with these people? Are we going to rewrite American history?
Or is it only okay as long as there are no statues built of them?

The entire point of progressivism is to break the bonds of history, tradition, and continuity, so that we can become the Last Man. Completely individual, rootless, and free to express whatever desires we have.

Break the bonds of history? It's the left that won't let the past go because there is to much power in using it to stir up a certain voting block.
Break the bonds of tradition? The left destroyed the family in black communities with the way it set up welfare. That worked out well...
Completely individual??? The left is the epitome of mindless idiots that do everything in groups. Black Lives Matter? Why not all lives matter? Women's rights? What about individuals rights? Fair share in taxes when half the country pays nothing while collecting more than most middle class. Literally everything the left does is done to group people.
Free to express any desires? As long as y'all agree with it.
You're full of shite. Actions speak louder than words.

So long as they perfectly adhere to the "proper" narrative.

30 years from now they'll be saying the same thing about presidents owning pets
Would be interesting to hear the responses if they think commemorations of Grant, who was largely responsible for defeating the Confederate Army thus liberating the slaves and close comrade of Abe Lincoln, should be torn down since he also owned slaves.

FIYI
Ulysses S. Grant was a slave holder by intention and Robert E. Lee was an unintentional slave holder by inheritance through his wife.
Idiots in New Orleans would probably cheer if a statue of Grant replaced the torn down statue of Lee.
That's how retarded regarding history most people are.
