frick you you opportunist piece of shite.
You have to admit, whether you voted for Biden, Trump, Beto or Cruz, this disaster isn’t a good look for politicians/government regardless of red or blue.
It’s the incessant finger pointing on both sides of the aisle all while the American people are left in shopping lines for hours for food/water and no electricity for days.
But Facebook and Twitter are still alive and well with “my side is the good side and your side is at fault”.
It’s exhausting.

They most certainly had a fireplace, though.
Huh, downvotes for me pointing out that just because his grandparents didn't have electricity didn't mean they had no heat, nor a way to cook? What, did they just roam around in a pack and tackle deer and shite to the ground and gnaw off pieces like a pack of coyotes? If you have a fireplace to cook, it will also heat the home enough to keep you from dying.

Scared to hear the news when all this melts. Elderly, families, it’s going to be bad.

There is nothing a politician can do when something like this happens. What exactly do you expect them to do? Surviving in cold weather, if you are healthy person, is not difficult.

I am sorry a child died but something doesn’t sound right
Seems odd. I'm reading this as sheets and not blankets, but it would still seem sheets would keep someone from freezing to death. Not sure how much a 12 year old weighs though.

It's funny how according to the media after Katrina it was Bush's fault not Blanco's. And after this it's Abbott's fault not Biden's.
I wonder what the reason for that responsibility switch is.

They did not
Later they had propane heaters, one in the living room & one in the bathroom that was added on to the house later on
All I remember was a gas stove, I will have to ask what type of stove / oven my Great Grandma used before that
We used the house as a camp when I was growing up
There was a gas heater in the living room & one in the bathroom that was added later on
Only AC was a window unit in the living room
ETA
They did have a fireplace in the living room, it was closed in after they got butane heaters
They also had a wood burning stove

If you sleep outside below 20 it usually takes 4 layers up top to stay warm. 2 jackets, 2 shirts, and a good sleeping bag. Down, fleece, and long sleeves whatever.

I hate the boy died but I guarantee you I could keep my 7 year old son warm enough in a mobile home so he wouldn’t die. I get shite went sideways in Texas but people survived all over the world without electricity and gas just a few hundred years ago. Basic survival when it comes to life and death shouldn’t be that hard for people in today’s world.

Thats on the parents. Sorry
I'm sure they feel the same way, but you're a fricking dick head for immediately attacking them when a) they may have not been experienced at knowing exactly how to handle this situation, and b) almost certainly had limited resources.
But at least you can chill and not really give a shite while they hate themselves for what happened for the rest of their lives.

Something doesn’t add up. How could he only be under bedsheets? Did they not have blankets?

2 short paragraphs of little details? Yeaaaa, I’m going to wait to reserve judgment instead of falling prey to emotion

Yeah probably strip off the down quick.

He was found in his bed by his mother??? You have a trailer with no heat in 12degree weather so you send your 11yo son to bed by himself???? Wtf?? How about snuggling for body heat and trying to warm your child??
