That is a truly awful article. Much of the list is internally inconsistent (be aware of racial differences when you are supposed to and ignore racial differences when you are supposed to; embrace different cultures but you damn sure better not embrace it too much you culture-appropriating racist; treat everyone the same except when treating everyone the same is unfair and good luck figuring out the difference). What a bunch of paralyzing, patronizing, compromising BS.

Lowering or raising. Intentional or unintentional.
In other words, no matter what you do or don't do, white people are racists

That one is actually legitimate.

Ah, so now I see "code" is passe and they are going for the "if you ain't no activist, you're racist" angle.

Just more proof that the social experiment of trying to get different races to live as one is a huge failure

Gotta love the self hating "white people" who write articles like this. "Take my word for it. I'm white so that's how you know I'm telling the truth"

Summary of article:
Ignore race - racist
Recognize race - racist
Hold everyone to same standard - racist
Set different standards based on race - racist
Fail to engage the culture of others - racist
Embrace the culture of others - racist
No matter what you do, we will find the racist angle and beat you over the head with it. You are white therefore you are racist. You can't help it.

Intentionally is one thing, but unintentionally? Uh, no.
Funny how so many Chinese people pick an Anglicized name when they come here instead of being offended because I can't pronounce "Xi" or "Xiao" correctly.

When they say you are intentionally mispronouncing it, it means you're pronouncing it the correct way. They just fail to comprehend that their name is spelled wrong.

Sounds like a hell of a motivator.

One of the more subtle but powerful ways that White teachers inject racism into our schools is in how we engage with names that are different than those we grew up knowing. Sometimes it shows up in simply not taking the time to learn how to properly pronounce a student’s name – but other times, it’s active resistance. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard of teachers saying, “Their names are just too hard for me to pronounce,” so they settle for assigning nicknames. What we communicate with this microaggression is that the student’s identity ought to conform to the world we know, not that we ought to be responsive to the student.
frick that. It's not a white person's fault if the spelling of your name doesn't match the pronunciation. That's your mom's fault. This "racism" bullshite is getting out of hand.

FINALLY! SOMEONE GETS IT!
Now, we can cure racism.

When I read this in 2015, I thought someone was trying to be humorous or it was satire.

The underlying point of the entire article is that black students should have black teachers. If that's what they want, then they want segregation
Posted on 5/31/16 at 1:40 pm to Upperdecker
I'm going to write and publish the exact same article, but just switch out the races and other trigger words so black teachers can better change their ways so that they can teach white students.
