At least everyone that wants to purchase has some actual skin in the game instead of literal theft

Idea of a sales tax being only on tangible items from a local brick and mortar in this day and age is backwards.
Good are goods. Debate should be about the sales tax on them all not keeping the loophole on whatever version you chose to consume.

10% to the poor person is a higher % than the rich guy
But it’s an equal $ amount to both, and its only paid based on the both of their usage.
Whatever the % is on income tax now in Louisiana the rich guy is paying much more in income taxes than the poor guy. That rich guy is probably funding the poor guy’s welfare and/or EIC being used to pay the sales taxes in the first place.

What? You keep bragging about a black democrat pushing it through the state legislature.
I’ll go ahead and sit on the other side. You can sit with dems and their bullshite.

Maybe they’ll use the new tax revenue to build new infrastructure!
Landry just sat before Congress this morning crying for infrastructure money. Money that was dedicated for the new bridge was shuffled to his new tax plan but is supposed to be “temporary.”
For being a “conservative” state, we sure do leach off the feds a lot.

Louisiana streaming service subscribers will now pay sales tax on subscriptions
quote:
BATON ROUGE — Louisiana residents who subscribe to streaming services and television providers will now pay a 10% sales tax on the services.
The new tax, which went into effect on Jan. 1, was passed as a part of Gov. Jeff Landry's widespread tax plan legislators voted on in a special session in November.
According to an email sent to Cox subscribers, the tax will appear under the "Taxes, Fees and Surcharges" section of future bills.
Previously, streaming services were not subject to state sales tax. The law's language says the new tax is one of multiple laws designed to modernize the state's tax code.
So my Dish Network bill will be taxed?
