Here to Serve will be looking for a place to go once things get started. We dont really have any contacts in the areas that are going to be impacted.
We usually setup in church parking lots, because those are usually large and give us room for the trailers. They usually have multiple entrances so people can take food in a drive-thru style, thats how we do it after hurricanes and tornadoes. This will be a new situation for us, usually a day or two after a hurricane most major roads are open. This may be different if roads are impassable.
Problem #1 will be getting 18,000# trailers there on icy roads.
Problem #2 will be will people be able to walk to us, if roads are icy?
My email is alphaandomegatd@gmail.com if anyone wants to contact me to exchange info so if a need is in your area we can get together.

Yet it was and people survived and were able to get back on the road within a day.
Not in 2021 either, nor 2014. People can’t drive when it’s sunny and dry - let them panic buy so they can stay home during this.

My wife and kids are going to be comfortable at my parents house this weekend while I stay behind to take care of house, pets and neighbors.
Glad your wife saw reason.
I'm also glad you'll get some peace and quiet.

Hopefully the timing of it hitting late Sat and Sun most of the idiots will be off the road and let DOT do their job.
I plan on being homebound from about noon tomorrow til Tuesday. Got all the beer and wine for the wife yesterday.

It could still be turned around but we’re talking decades of work that needs to begin with parenting and it’s not looking like anyone cares to get started.

Fill your washer with water in case you need for toilet flushing
Filling a bathtub or a few five gallon buckets is way easier.
Well I don’t disagree. But I know our bathtub loses water slowly and not everyone has 5 gallon buckets.
But yes those are better options that I should have mentioned.

I’ve watched the weather channel and Pete Delkus on the local Dallas ABC. The weather channel seems to be predicting worse for North Texas than the local ABC affiliate.

40 inches of snow in south central Alabama and 6-9 inches across south Louisiana? The Canadian has 30 inches just north of Baton Rouge

looking at January 30-31st, 12z GFS and 12z Canadian are showing a very similar set up as January 2025 snow storm for the gulf coast. If 12z EURO gets on board, things could be very interesting.
