Ole Miss announced Thursday that the campus was closing on Monday and that all university events and activities were canceled beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday. Our friends daughter came home bc of this announcement.
Sounds like my friends got a "story" from their daughter, not shocking but appreciate the background.
He'll be interested to hear that when I see him friday haha.

There was a brief issue with communication .. so messages were sent in various ways.
Helpful tip for the parents is to sign up for Reb Alert I think is what it’s called. Emails can go to parents as well .. and maybe texts??

My son went and picked up my niece in Oxford Sunday - 6 hour round trip from eastern suburbs of memphis...just had to drive slow

And for the Ole Miss situation I blame the school in part because according to parents with students there they didnt cancel class until the last minute so are you going to drive home out of state while missing class potentially?
If you kid goes to ole Miss and is scared to miss a Friday class, why are they at ole Miss?

That wasn't how it was communicated apparently, it was earlier in the week and we're in FL so it isn't a quick or easy drive.
That said they told a story to have a reason to stay in Oxford and party all week which is exactly why I suspect they're at Ole Miss haha.

Well they’re not partying at the bars at this point lol. Now at home/dorm maybe.

Anyone seen the "fake snow" claims people are making?

They’re welcome to come to my house to see how not fake it is.

They say it won't melt and smells like plastic when they burn it with a lighter. People have tried to explain why, but physics and science in general cannot penetrate their realm.

Rage bait engagement posts. She has to be paid for engagement. That has to be the only reason why she kept emphasizing 30 degrees.

Just checking in from Shreveport. I opened the office back up today. I'm the only one here. The main roads are drivable, but they ice back up after dark pretty quickly. It's no where near clear on side streets, roof tops, yards, etc.
I lost power Sunday morning from 6:30 am to 8:30 am. Just enough time to crank the generator, hook up space heaters and lights and get the TV going. Then the power came back on.
Good practice though with getting the generator started, running extension cords, etc. with a hangover at 6:30 am.
I just watched some maintenance videos. My next move is to go get some synthetic 5W-30 and change the oil. I didn't realize you need to change the oil every 25 hours of run time. That seems ridiculous. I've had it for a few years and only changed the oil once after the initial break in period oil change.

0% chance schools are open tomorrow, right? My wife is convinced she has to come back today so the kids can go to school.
I keep telling her all the sludge that is on the roads today will turn to ice again tonight.
