There is literally no way the OP is correct unless that 50% is counting on reparations or a combination of entitlement programs to survive retirement
I don’t disagree but it’s a tv commercial that’s on constant repeat.

Well the average life expectancy for a male AA is around the retirement age.

Like a freaking baby. You ever seen someone who is a professional bum? They don’t give a frick. The only concern is if they run out of beer. Life after that is just watching the big wheel spin. “Oh no.. another judgment letter? A lien filed? *laughs their arse off*

I had enough to retire until Uncle Joe's economy wrecked my 401K.

It really is impossible to know how much you'll need though because you don't know how long you'll live.
Standard of living also varies wildly from person to person. So for some $100k may be enough while somebody else may feel broke with $1 million

Somehow there will be many black and white people that think this is somehow now my problem and will need me to kick in some “equity”for the down and out brothers who spent their retirement on rims and Colt 45.

Our country is filled with lazy, fat, and generally stupid people. Self-reliance, fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility, and decentralization cannot exist here on a large scale, regardless of race.

PedoPeter isn’t finished with us yet. He’s literally just getting started.
Also, how much you need to retire is subjective. I have enough to retire today and scrape by but at retirement age - the goal is to have more saved and payed out per month than I make currently to keep pace with inflation. What was a solid plan for 20+ years has been blown to high hell because of Biden and his wreckless economic agenda. frick all Democrats.

I absolutely didn't save enough for retirement in my 20s. Had kids pretty young and struggled at times. I got closer to back on track with my goals from 30-40.
I'm saving everything I can now at this point. I don't want to work until I die. Luckily we live a fairly modest lifestyle for our household income.

a commercial
I am almost willing to bet this is some sort of 'justice' BS commercial.
Just a guess, that percentage is well above 80% for black American's.
I bet its just about the same percentage for whites & hispanics.
I am shooting for another 10 years till retirement. But I am nowhere near where I want to be financially.
A couple of good things is that my house & property is paid for and all vehicles paid for.
I have just about completely remodeled my house and have about 3 more projects to go before we have it like we want.
Good Lord willing, I see my self working a little part-time gig after retirement just to make a little extra money and to keep me sharp and form getting bored.

The first thing people should recognize is the data haven't been adjusted for age. Most people don't have much opportunity to accumulate money until they get into their 40s and 50s.
The compounding nature of investment dramatically increases your net worth as you age.
Comparing different racial groups on the basis of just group and net worth is idiotic when the mean ages are a decade or more different

Here you go Wasn’t hard to find
A 2020 report by the National Institute on Retirement Security found that 82% of Black households and 69% of Hispanic households had less than one times their annual income saved for retirement, compared to 60% of White households.
The source of this information is a 2020 report published by the National Institute on Retirement Security (NIRS) titled "Race and Retirement Insecurity in the United States." The report analyzed data from the Federal Reserve's Survey of Consumer Finances and other sources to examine retirement savings by race and ethnicity in the US.

That doesn’t matter. The only reason they don’t have enough saved is all because of whitey.

LMAO.... I don't think color has anything to do with that!!
Probably, most Americans don't, regardless of skin color.

This sounds ominous, but I'd like to see the entire data set. I'm in good financial shape, but don't have enough to retire because I'm only 49.
