People actually taking advice from experts and organizations like WHO are the idiots meanwhile the ones who think this is all to make Trump look bad are the smartest

Well that is just a downright misleading quote as it relates to this

As it relates to ICU beds per capital, which is what will be necessary for critically ill patients, America leads the world

America has 34.7 ICU beds per 100,000 people, 3x more than Italy

guess once you die you no longer need medical attention, but 7% mortality rate seems pretty significant.

All the mortality rates being tossed around for Covid19 are meaningless since whether in Italy or the US we have no idea of the total number people that are infected since few have been tested, and most will not require medical intervention. We can say that out of X known cases Y have died, but that does not translate to a mortality rate for a population of infected whose total number is unknown.

I've tried bringing logic to this issue. Sadly it seems people have decided to act like the sky is falling and nothing will stop them

Well, we have people buying 5 years supply of toilet paper, so that's what you are up against.

108 years to be exact. I will ban bet that this "plague" goes away in 6 months max. For everyone under 75 and over 10, it's a .4% fatality rate. Ebola had a 46ish% fatality rate.

It is amazing how bad it has gotten in Italy, but why there vs other places. Most other places are not having nearly as bad a time with this, and there are reasons why.

1) Covid-19 is a respiratory virus. If you haven't been to Italy in a while, they still smoke like chimneys there compared to Americans, Asians, etc. It will make them more susceptible.

2) They are a touchy people. It is just how they are. Like many European countries they say hi by kissing each other on the cheeks.

3) They are a significantly older population with a greater number of people in the high risk age ranges.

4) They didn't take this seriously at all and it caught up with them. Americans may not be buying the media frenzy about all of this, but almost all people are naturally washing their hands more, being more socially distant from one another and taking precautions even if not extreme.

The reality is that there are a lot of factors making it worse in Italy that aren't going to necessarily happen here.

Well that makes me feel better even though I wish it wasn’t 10 years old. I’d presume the numbers have increased per capita for a lot of those tho

Everytime an elective surgery is done you have a 5% chance of death. If the media hadn't told you to be frightened would you think that is a high chance? Put it this way if someone told you could win $500 off $20 with a 5% chance would you take that?
