I do....but it sucks when it takes forever to get served because someone ordered a deconstructed lavender infused tini with fresh muddled basil. Also, these bars inevitably frick up simple cocktails by trying to do to much with it

craft beer is def a pro, but I have come to hate the craft cocktail thing. A cocktail should be a well balanced mix that you can turn out quickly and confidently.... hipsters have started a movement of dozen ingredient monstrosities that take 10 minutes a drink to make....frick that

Then don't order one.

I avoid those bars like the plague.

I don't...see post just above yours.... this shite effects everyone at the bar. But I'm with you. If I see a bartender in a leather apron paired with a drink menu attached to a tiny clipboard, I generally look elsewhere for cocktails

I don't know if this applies to hipsters necessarily

I've met some people that you might consider both hipsters and conservatives

Pro: craft breweries pumping out amazing stuff
Con: They make hanging out at those breweries insufferable

I've yet to find one where the latter is true. But I live in South Texas so the hipster spectrum is probably a bit more narrowed

That could happen in any cocktail bar in NOLA well before hipsters were even a thing

true...but it's become way more widespread with the hipster thing. There was a bar we used to frequent here that was just a good chill place with a solid patio. As it's gotten more and more hipster anything more complicated than a mule will take literally 10 minutes for them to make....also I have a nut allergy which I now have to mention because they feel the need to add whatever nut liquor or extract to every damn drink.... even a mule

I’d really love to know how hipsters make hanging out at brewery “insufferable”
