He said he was inquiring about having his blog linked on that page and the guy asked him to write for the site instead.

i mean his piece isn't too terrible but got darn, its very enduring to get through. His writing style is a bit overzealous at times.

Well I'm pretty certain he's never written like that before, so it will probably take him some time to get it more "professional" if he sticks with it.

I just called him out on a spelling error in the first sentence of his last entry.

You're welcome, bruh.

So Unger is moving to Guard and Strief is taking over at Center?

So I guess Strief would rather sit the bench instead of slide inside at guard and be a dominant run blocker and better than average pass protector. Peat and Armstead would give us two good YOUNG tackles for years to come.

We don't want a 6'7 guard with brees at QB

Also, his quote reflects what SP has already said

I think that Zach will be at RT for one more year for sure. Peat was a bit of a reach at 13, he has great talent, but he is NOT a finished product

I've gone from hating this draft to being OK with it, but I still don't like the Peat pick unless he ends up being an elite RT or a very good LT. My biggest problem with it is that Strief is still a very good RT and Armstead is adequate despite being a young project entering his 3rd season. There's no reason to believe that Armstead won't improve this season, and he was already OK. Strief JUST signed an extension a year ago and was about as good last season as he was in 2013.

I would have been much more excited about the draft if we had taken Parker, who would have been an immediate starter for us. Don't forget that Peat's 5th year option is essentially based on the franchise tag. That tag doesn't differentiate between OL positions, so the value isn't as great with RTs.

It's a really interesting dimension that Ireland brought to the draft w rumors of Payton wanting dvp and Mickey wanted Dupree

If Loomis wanted Dupree we would have Dupree. Period. End of story. You don't mess with the Loomis! So I heard.

Assuming that you're not pulling these rumors out of your arse, there's no way that Ireland had more pull than Payton/Loomis.

I think the group agreed that Peat was the best available player by a sizeable margin and took him. Payton himself has said that they don't have pure rankings, they put players into tiers and draft based on need within those tiers. That they took Peat (with tackle not being a need) over Parker (with WR a big need) tells me that they had a really high ranking on Peat. I can't fault them for the pick, but I'm still not happy about it. The front office all but said that they would have considered Shelton if he had dropped one more spot. I would have been ecstatic about the draft had that happened.

I think Ireland was more so the voice of reason than driving the bus. I'd be willing to bet he's probably the biggest influence in not trading really any of our picks.

I don't disagree with that. But if Payton thought that Peat and Parker were in the same tier, there's no way that Payton passes on the position of need + getting a "toy."

And I really hope that all of this talk of Peat playing RT are simply regarding what position he starts off as. A career RT simply isn't worth the 13th pick. If he plays a season or two the right side then moves to LT, it's not as big of a deal. The problem I have is that, if he mostly is on the bench this season (which I think he will be), then plays RT for two seasons, that gives us only one or two seasons with him playing LT before he gets his big contract.
