Young up and coming Offensive Coordinators to take a gander at for HC

Obviously a guy like Ben Johnson seems like a long shot and everyone knows him, so here are some others:
Bobby Slowick, OC Texans - Will probably be right behind Johnson in opportunities
Shane Waldron, OC Bears - Coached under McVay and Pete Carroll, did a very good job resurrecting Geno Smith, and now working with Caleb Williams. One of the hottest names out there to be a future HC
Drew Petzing, OC Cardinals - did a pretty good job last year with not a lot to work with, they are middle of the pack this year in both yards and points
Liam Coen, OC Bucs - Another McVay disciple, doing a great job this year in Tampa
Any guys you are thinking of?

That is a gross list, to be honest.
Last year PFF Bobby looked like a dude, but his shine has regressed this year.
The rest are very mid.

CSP was kind of a nobody when we hired him. The Giants had stripped him of play calling duties and he was a fine OC in Dallas but no one would say he was the best in the league.
Sometimes interviews and reputation reveal a guy to be stellar.

Zac Robinson in Atlanta is a McVay guy calling his own plays now and looks to be doing a fine job
Adam Stenavich OC in Green Bay - don’t think he calls the plays there but they’ve done an outstanding job developing young OL since he’s been there, which looks like it’s going to be a priority for New Orleans going forward. Being heavily involved in the development of Love and all those young receivers can’t hurt

I do wonder when Joe Brady's name will start getting thrown around

I think it’s a great year to be hiring a coach. I see:
NYJ
NO
CLE
JAX
NYG
DAL
PHI
As the most likely openings. There’s always a surprise or two, and perhaps the Jets or Eagles don’t come open. But people will be after a Belichick or Vrabel, especially places like Dallas or Philly that are more urgent to win now. And I understand Saints fans don’t want a defensive coach, but there’s a few good candidates on that side too that could end up filling some of the above slots
Lots of good candidates and probably only 6 or 7 spots to fill

I have some news for you about the Jets you may have missed
I could see Bill in Dallas or NYG and Vrabel in Philly

If they turn it around Ulbrich will keep that job. He’s pretty highly regarded in his own right and they will try to keep Rodgers another year. I don’t think it’s likely they turn it around, but possible

I'd be interested in Vrabel. He knows how to build and manage a team. He stumbled in Tennessee, another example of a coach who couldn't find his QB, but he's a leader, commands respect, and would bring a new tone that's missing in this organization.

I need someone from the McVay tree or Shanahan tree. Literally no one else unless it's Ben Johnson but that man is destined for a big time job

We’re going to have one of the least desirable HC openings in recent memory. Loomis really fricked this thing up

I could see McVay just bolting. Feel like he’s been flirting with leaving and their injuries have been pretty bad as well. He’s young enough that he could leave while still highly thought off, do TV then go back in 5 years.

I would take a run at Bill Belichick. He looks rejuvenated on the Manning cast and he would be motivated to take over the most wins record.

Also wouldn’t mind firing DA now and see what Klint can do the rest of the way as interim.

The BB thing just completely reeks of another Ditka situation. BB’s latter rosters were masked pretty good by Brady. His teams have been devoid of significant talent for awhile.
The guy would be 73 years old when he took over. No thanks.

If im Klint i dont even want it. Teams a mess and has all but phoned it in. Wouldn’t be doing himself any favors. Give it to Rizzi.

This. You’re not getting Ben Johnson. But you dump everything into Slowik and Vrabel and if you miss on both…yeah. Idk who else I’d go after. Robinson I think could be good but I think he needs more years of coordinator experience.
Frank Smith is interesting. He hasn’t been calling plays but he’s been in some impressive coaching rooms over his career. Was with us from 2010-2014z But it’s hard to name someone like that your coach when he practically has no playcalling experience
