We should’ve traded for him in the 2020 draft!

What are you talking about? He's always had Ja'Marr Chase and other good receivers so he hasn't proven that he can win with crap receivers so therefore what? We shouldn't want one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL?
Arguably the best. There's Josh Allen,.. and Matthew Stafford's playing incredible. No one else comes close. And that's without an offensive line or a defense. If you don't want to give up draft picks or you think it's the wrong time because we're rebuilding and you don't want the contract, that's one thing. But he's nothing like Derek Carr. He's a once in a generation talent

Burrow has played a ton of games without Ja'marr and a ton of games without Tee and multiple games without both and he's acquitted himself very nicely.in those games behind shoddy o lines.

Burrow is not arguably the best QB. The best QBs dont get injured every year. The best ability is availability and he is a soft little injury prone qb that throws up jump balls and gets bailed out by elite WRs. Take ur 2019 yellow and purple glasses off.

Normally I would say he doesn't fit our timeline, but you build a timeline around Joe. You'd also have to build an offensive line around Joe as well though

I’m not saying HE’S Derrick Carr. He’s obviously way better when healthy. I’m saying the much bigger contract plus shite roster, lack of draft picks, etc would be a continuation of those years. 6-11 to 8-9 ish ultra frustrating seasons where he’s good enough to win some games making plays but ultimately gets banged up and has a bunch of disappointing games in the process.

Disagree on the generational talent. He’s really good but he’s not elevating this roster to a serious playoff contender. Thats exactly what he would have to do with all we’d have to give up for him.

Plus Shough seems to be a way more likable dude anyway.

This thread is a good reminder of how many stupid people are on this board. Obviously it depends on what you're giving up, but OF COURSE YOU TRADE FOR JOE BURROW.

He's a top 5 QB and still young. Would you trade for Josh Allen? Pat Mahomes? Saints would give up two 1sts and Shough in a second for Joe Burrow. The Saints could then go all-in borrowing against the cap like the Drew Brees era and worry about cap hell in 2032. Joe's problem now is Cincinatti is cash cheap and will not borrow against the future to win for the next 5 years.

I believe the cost at this point would make us the Bengals.

No team with our O-line should go after Burrow. A team that can keep him upright would do well to grab him if theyneed a QB. A team with our O-line would not be doing him or themselves a service by grabbing him.

If it doesn’t cost an insane amount of capital. Of course you do it.

We’d go back to selling out the Dome
Every weekend. No empty seats. Issue is our csp is so screwed up, we need a rookie wage scale qb to get out of the mess Micky created, not a 50 million a year qb.

Our cap is as clear as anyones after next season. We could start borrowing against that cap space NOW if we thought our window was open again.

Saying Burrow isn’t top-tier because of injuries is a weak arse argument.. Brady (missed 08), Peyton (missed 11), and Rodgers missed multiple seasons.....Bo Jackson got hurt and only played 4 years he definitely wasn't available after that... Availability helps teams, but talent defines greatness. You can't say he's not one of the best qbs because he got hurt.
He's had one of the worst lines in the league all his career and he's taken more hits and sacks than almost anyone.. he is human. 2020 injury was from taking a sack. His most recent injury was a protection breakdown sack. He doesn't become not elite b/c of this. Joe is without a doubt elite....He has the highest career completion % in NFL history over 68%... He led the entire freaking league in yards and tds in 24. And he throws perfect deep balls. He doesn't throw jump balls. What?... He has Chase/Higgy,----so he's not a great quarterback because he has good receivers? Lol. It's OK for great qbs to have weapons.
Injured every year? Um,.. full seasons in 2021 (Super Bowl), 2022, 2024 with monster stats...

Hes had bad O-line luck, He's not soft. Burrow’s arguably the best when on the field.
If Burrow got hurt half as often & missed only 2 seasons instead of a few partial ones, would he then be great? No, you would just move the goal posts to something else. When healthy, Joe is top-tier. One of the best. Any analyst will tell you that. It's not hard to figure out. NFL’s all-time highest completion % with a crap o-line year after year.
"Hey everyone Joe Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL... wait he's been hurt a few times. "oh never mind he sucks" lmao
Availability matters, but it doesn’t erase god given top tier talent. If you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you. The argument’s always been weak.

Also,LSU proved his talent (Heisman, natty, record 60 TDs), which he’s carried to the pros. Dismissing his greatness because of it is just lazy hating. Let me guess. Dan Marino and Jim Kelly weren't great quarterbacks either because they didn't win Super Bowls right?? is that the next thing?
He's easily top five best quarterbacks in the NFL right now.
Pretty much common knowledge

I love Burrow and would love it if he was a Saint but it just doesn’t make sense for where this team is in its rebuild. His contract is huge and we have an even worse supporting cast than Cincy.

If things were different I would support it 100%.

Instead I’m hoping he lands somewhere that lets him succeed.

No, and go ahead and prepare yourself for when the Rams cash in their warchest to trade for him this offseason.
