Would you rather host Dallas or Philly in the Playoffs?

Mates - for the past 2 months, when I daydream about the shocking upset that we'll pull in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, it has been the Dallas Cowboys that we are defeating. I picture a dejected Dak Prescott sitting on the Cowboys bench, a ballcap pulled down unusually far over his brow and then a tubby Mike McCarthy waddling awkwardly towards the midfield Sir Saint logo (it's MY dream, so hush) for the handshake with Dennis Allen.

But it occured to me today that it could almost as easily be the Philadelphia Eagles that we are hosting. I rather think that aside from the Cowboys' penchant of choking, we might actually match up better with Philadelphia. The great Marshawn Lattimore does his best work against big, physical receivers like Metcalfe and Evans, and I suspect he'd prefer AJ Brown and Philly rather than CeeDee Lamb and Dallas as well.

What say you all? Who do you think that we'd match up better again and who are you hoping wins the NFC East as a result?

We own the Eagles so I want them. And we beat them last year, albeit without Hurts

It's true - we've beaten them THREE TIMES in the playoffs, more than any other team.

Give me Dallas, you know they’re going to collapse in the playoffs.

Dallas. I got tickets to sell and bank to make.

Plus Dallas has not been good on the road.

Eagles. They just aren’t as good as Dallas.

The Saints aren't allowed to play anyone in the playoffs besides Philadelphia and Minnesota (or at least it feels that way)

Here's how the rest of the season goes.

The Saints somehow backdoor their way into the NFC South title and get Dallas at home. Dallas isn't good on the road and the Saints upset them. The media goes nuts! 1/2 is gleeful to see Dallas fail once more. The other 1/2 is hearbroken.

With the win, the Saints then go to Philly and pull off the shocker of the playoffs. Which gets them a NFC Championship date with San Francisco...who promptly destroys the Saints.

DA is held as a hero. Pete is looked at as "coming around". Nothing on the staff changes. Saints fans melt and watch an 8-9 season next year.

If DA gets us to the NFC Championship, why the frick would you not want to keep him?

If we got to the nfc championship, I'm more worried about the off-season moves (player/personnel wise) than DA.

This mess isn't good for a fresh coach to come into, so giving him another year with another OC would be smart.

We think we're close and go out and nab 2 expensive players with dummy years and we're gonna be stuck beyond 2025.

Would love to make the playoffs but as you said the big downside is that Loomis will push even more cap dollars down the road to "keep the band together". Hell we are at -82 million today. I can't imagine how far he would go next year

Philly. They look absolutely terrible this last month, and we have historically owned them in the playoffs.

Any route to the Superbowl that doesn't include playing @ SF is fine by me.

Can you elaborate on why you are referred to on this board as “ Alejandro” and why you never categorically deny the reference?

With a first place schedule? We will be lucky to win 5 games with DA and PC back.

I’ve paid off entire seasons of tickets when they play Dallas in the reg season. I can’t imagine playing them in the playoffs.

Apparently at one point there was a poster called Alejandro and he had a golden doodle that looked like my dog and liked the Saints.
