he's not the long term answer no matter how many more they win
the schedule eases up quite a bit so the Saints will likely win some games down the stretch
knowing Loomis he will hire him and Saints will be back on the market sooner then later

Too many factors before we could say.
Allen was considered a lazy hire because they did a half arse search and hired someone with a career .222 winning percentage.
If Rizzi wins most of the games in the schedule and they actual interview legitimate options, then offer him the job I think the worst we can say is it was a comfortable hire.
If he finished under .500 with the remaining schedule and still gets the job; it’s a lazy hire. Side note, if he wins 1 of the last 7 games of the season, he’ll at least have a better winning percentage than what DA had when he was offered the job.

As a lifelong Saints fan- it would be a 10/10 on the disappointment scale for me.

Of course and rightfully so.

Yes, it would be a total disaster. Which means the Saints will likely do it.

I would have said absolutely not but it does look like the players do respond to him. A poor man’s Dan Campbell maybe? See how it plays out

I don’t care how he does for the rest of the season, we would be fools to not have a proper coaching search.

People were saying Kubiak was going to be the next head coach after the first game.....

Unless we win the superbowl we need to a legit coaches search and move on from Loomis

You should contact loomis and let him know

Pathetic - Definitely!!
Do we not have any standards????
Why are our fans so simple?

He would need to win out to be the selection.

quote:This. Have Rizzi command the tank for 2 years and just have a whole team on the vet minimum while we shed whatever cap we can. Then start fresh in 2026 or 27 with a top QB pick. All after you fire Loomis into the sun.
Depends on the circumstances. If we dive further into a rebuild, I have zero problem with Rizzi basically being our David Culley.

Yes, but I think if he does get the job, it would be because he finished the season very strong. He has an 8 game "try out". Say he goes 7-1, I think it would be hard not to give him the job and most Saints fans would be OK with it, although I really think 4-4 is a more realistic run, which would take him out of the running anyway.
