You're getting DVd by the same people who scream weekly that DA needs to get fired. One thing about this board is that it is consistently inconsistent.

Exactly.

Naw. Look what finishing strong last year did for the lions.

Yeah... too bad we have a historical loser as HC and not Dan Campbell

I get what you are saying, but that applies to the players. We sit in chairs, so this does not apply to our outlook.

Lol don’t worry they won’t. But based on the comments by DA that they “won’t change anything” he is good for another year even if he finishes 5-12

Gayle is a reluctant owner who never actually cared to own a football (and basketball) team. Thus, she has very little desire be involved in the operation.
What exactly should Gayle be doing other than letting the team President and team GM run the organization? You think they’d be better off if she acted like Jerry Jones?

You're pretty optimistic.

A good coach can turn this team around in no time. A big reason we can have hope every year, is this division has no qb. Like it or not, Brees had to deal with Matty Ice who won a MVP, and Cam who won a MVP. Bryce Young may turn out ok, but he will always be small and will get banged up during the year. And he still may be a bust, too soon to tell.

But he will not be on Cam or Ryan’s level. No dominate qb in the division, means it’s wide open every year.

I understand the theory of this.

If you follow this logic then we would have to know under what circumstances would DA be fired.

Missing the playoffs?
Going 7-10?

I suspect he is here for one more year regardless...The sad part is that this is the easiest schedule we will ever see. I'm not saying that it makes us a good team but we should have been 14-3 or 15-2 at the worst this season.

Losing 5 or more games should be a crime.

Now here is the alternate version...winning the SB is all that matters. If you are not first then you might as well be last...That is true for just about 29 of 32 teams.

One team will win...
2-3 teams will getting stronger and make advances

The rest have wasted assets and used contracts.

Most owners are business people...They own the teams, but they are aslo assets that increase when the teams are better.

So what she should be doing is making a change in Management. It is obvious that the Team President and Team GM could be better.

Of course the team President is pretty much the de facto owner.

I would think that some loyalty to guys that have been around the team for two decades and helped in the teams most successful period in its history is probably more of her current thought. That’s not saying that won’t change or that loyalty doesn’t have bounds, but two seasons removed from Payton is a fairly short period of time. I think DA and the staff have a lot less rope right now compared to Lauscha and Loomis.

While that is true and I understand what you are saying, I guess for me it is easier just to pull for my team to win because pulling one way or the other will not impact the outcome. So I pull for my team to win, if they lose and increase the chances of picking up that player we really need, in a season like this, I look at that as a silver lining.

I'm really an old school fan I guess, key word being old I have never been able to pull for my team to lose or want them to tank.

Home playoff games are awesome. I’d be ecstatic to get to have one this year.

You mean holding people accountable up to making changes if their performance is so poor (Carr signing , hiring DA) it warrants a change? What would JJ do?

Certainly not bring homemade brownies to Airline Drive and have a group sing “When the Saints go Marching In” at the 9AM coffee break!

Prime Drew Brees and younger CSP aren’t walking through that door.

In no universe is this a 14-3/15-2 team and staff IMO.

I kinda know you, Geauxldilocks, as far as wanting the Saints to move, etc.

But what exactly is Gayle to do right now? I'd argue to trust the pieces in place and not overreact. But it's on DL and ML to figure it out.

As I said before, there is a lot of trust built up over 20+ years.

I don’t want the Saints to move, it’s inevitable if NOLA and its voters don’t get their act together. At least the vehicle break ins this season are way off.

I get the 20 years of trust, but SP was in the building on the vast majority of the 20. It hasn’t taken long to spiral down quickly. Cart was an all in type move, if it doesn’t work that’s enough for 31 other franchises to make a move. Will Gayle move on ML? I’m not sure and the fans will vote with their future ticket purchases accordingly.
