Help me out old guys, which game was it that Stabler threw one or two interceptions, then lost a fumble and prevented us from going to the playoffs? I think he sold out…..
That was the last game of the 1983 season, and the first Saints game I went to. That was also the year "Who Dat" really became a phenomenon.

That 2006 NFC championship game may be the worst..
That Rams no call game pissed me off more than hurt

I was at that game. It felt like it took 8 hours to complete it was so miserable.

Hands down, the game the refs gave the SHAMS a trip to the Super Bowl.

If we win that game, we win the Super Bowl and Bountygate never happens because no way does Goodell shite over the marketing of the defending Super Bowl champs

One of the more underrated ones was Garrett Hartley missing a 29 yard game winning FG at home versus Atlanta that cost us division and HFA and probably the super bowl
May have been the SF heartbreker year

the loss to the Rams the week after the Saints dismantled the Colts 62-7
then lose to a shite arse Rams team the following game on or near Halloween.
you win that game and may not have had to travel to san Fran that year,
fricking 2011.'

The Willie "Flipper" Anderson show
I remember watching that unfold and wanting to vomit. Every time I am watching a Saints game and somebody says, "Oh we got this". I bring up the Flipper Anderson game.

That was 2010. That loss was one of the reasons the Saints had to travel to 7-9 Seattle for Wild Card weekend. We know how that turned out. Atlanta won the South that year & had home field advantage.

Raiders loss was in ‘79. You missed the worst of all - the 35-7 halftime lead in that was turned into a 38-35 OT loss in SF in 1980.

That's right 79......I try to block out 80 since it was truly horrific. All I remember is that we finally won a game in December at Shea and snow started falling at the end.

It was a pass from Brees but I agree.

That 87 Saints team was damn good
I was eight in 1987 and raised to be a Cowboys fan. By the end of the year I had Saints posters in my room. I bet my dad hated it.

1983 regular season finale vs. Rams.
Saints lead the Rams 24-23 late in the game with a 4th down on the Rams 31. A 48 yard field goal from a young Morten Andersen ices the game and sends the Saints to their first ever winning season and playoff berth.
Instead, Bum Phillips inexplicably sends Russell Erxleben in to punt. Of course, it was a touchback. A drive downfield and a few plays later, Mike Lansford sliced a 42-yd FG just inside the right upright on the final play of the game to give the Rams a 26-24 victory…and send them to the playoffs in the Saints stead.
I was 17, and I’m still traumatized by it.
