Think Goodell sent the memo out to officials yet.
You know NFL and CBS want the Los Angeles market in this Super Bowl.

I'm thinking New England and LA get all the calls this weekend.

I was thinking the same. They will pull their hair out if they get a Kansas City and New Orleans Super Bowl

Why? LA cares so much about football they lose teams all the time and they don't even care about attending a divisional round game.

I’m going with at least 4

The Super Bowl ratings are what they are. The teams playing has minimal effect

Why wouldn't they want Brees vs Brady?

They really need all 25 Rams fans to watch the Superbowl instead of 2 of the greatest quarterbacks ever, and teams with actual fanbases?

I'll be worried if Clete is in the Dome.

We need to be worried about Peat. I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of flags in the secondary yesterday.

Proof Matchups and markets dont really matter for the super bowl

Denver and Carolina markets beating Boston and Philly

And look how consistent the ratings are

You could easily make the argument that the league also wants two of their all time great QB's to face off in Brees and Brady.

I’ve said it before...it’s not just that.

Goodell having to hand the Lombardi Trophy to Payton would be rubbing his face in shite. He doesn’t want that.

Actually the dream “ratings” scenario for the NFL would be Chiefs/Saints since both haven’t been in very many Super Bowls and have rabid fan bases. Would probably be a 49 or 50 for that one.

Hope it’s Saints/Pats though

Brady’s a QB who was suspended for 4 games. The Pats were able to overcame that over 16 games.

Suspending a HC for a whole season (over bullshite, no less) is a bit more overarching. It cripples the franchise for that season.

From footballzebras.com

With that in mind, our likely Super Bowl crew is as follows:

Yrs 2018 crew Divisional game Previous playoffs Previous SB
R 62 Ron Torbert 9 LAC-NE 3 WC, 3 DIV
U 49 Rich Hall 15 Kemp LAC-NE 6 WC, 1 DIV, 1 CC
DJ 28 Mark Hittner 22 Smith IND-KC 7 WC, 2 DIV, 8 CC XXXVI, XXXVIII, XL
LJ 101 Carl Johnson 15 Wrolstad IND-KC (w) 3 WC, 5 DIV, 2 CC XLII
FJ 33 Steve Zimmer 22 Allen IND-KC 7 WC, 7 DIV, 4 CC XL
SJ 103 Eugene Hall 5 Cheffers DAL-LAR 3 WC, 1 CC
BJ 105 Dino Paganelli 13 Smith LAC-NE 2 WC, 6 DIV, 2 CC XLVII

All of these guy's ref'd in the WC and Divisional rounds.

So after Torbert it should be the # 2 and 3 graded crews.

Peat is playing with a club for one hand so it should be no surprise he’s getting flagged for holding . He has also played 3 different positions this year. Without Peat we probably aren’t where we are at right now.

You’re wrong they are dying for a KC/LA rematch for the super bowl. That’s where the calls will be

Now we astute NFL peeps know the home team inherently receive the favorable calls from the referee weather we want them or not.

The NFL has been more likely to run things into the ground then break new ground; so I'm not too worried about calls for a New Superstar Super Bowl showdown between Goff and Mahomes.

I'd think it is more likely that the NFL would want to ride the established popularity of the aging vets who are running out of time for another championship, i.e. Brees vs. Brady.

Or the two MVP candidates duking it out in the Super Bowl - Brees vs. Mahomes.

The main thing Goff has going for him are Gurley and the Los Angeles market; but the importance of local market is lessened because of the fact that the Super Bowl is so ubiquitous anyway.
