1. Sign Olave to long term deal
I think his price will go up notably if he plays well this season (and he should). Obviously have some injury offsets that both sides can agree to.

2. Bring Cam back
If we clearly upgraded the edge position, it would be different. But, we haven’t. Cam wants to be here and he adds leadership and production. I don’t think he will produce 10 sacks again. But, him, Wilson, and Granderson in rotation should produce 10-15 collectively. And his run D is still a plus.

3. Sign Lijarious Snead
If he is clear of injury. He played great with the Chiefs. Disaster for the Titans- bad roster and big contract to live up to. I think he could provide quality vet experience to our shakiest position depth wise.

4. Trade one of Rattler or Wilson in training camp
I think both are backup upgrades for several teams. We will likely keep one backup. It would be great to get late round pick for the guy we plan to cut.

5. Most unlikely- trade rights for Carr for draft pick
A team has an unlikely QB injury or Aaron Rodgers screws over the Steelers at the last minute and says he’s retiring. If we can get anything for Carr, it’s like finding money in your pockets that you didn’t know you had.

Any other items to add?

Trade Rattler would be top priority. The reason they brought Wilson in is because Spencer is terrible

Not sure you would get back a bucket of Popeye’s fried chicken for Rattler.

Nothing really. Keep moving forward with the reshaped roster. Honestly ready to let Cam just go.

There will come a time very soon where his play will be dramatically worse than his perception and with all the social media stuff I think we may be ready to move on. Grow some new leaders and don’t have a guy older than our coach hanging around as this is a completely new regime.

I don’t understand the fascination with trading Rattler. W have a fairly competent backup who’s started half a season in this system and he’s making league min salary basically for the next 2 years

Just kinda feels like hanging on to hang on to me. I love how efficient we’ve been with the roster turnover and just going about the rebuild in a workmanlike manner.

Just depends on how competent Wilson looks. Absolutely no reason to waste a roster spot on a 3rd QB. Id prefer a veteran even if that vet is pretty bad. He at least has the experience to teach. Not that I think Wilson is the ideal teacher lol.

Im all for keeping whoever looks better over the offseason/preseason. But lets use that roster spot for actual talent

The Saints are being delicate because of the player. The Saints have a offer. Cam takes it or not as the youth movement is happening regardless.

pencer Rattler generally ranks between 24th and 28th among NFL QBs in various power rankings, with a 70.0 overall PFF grade that ranked 27th.

You should have stopped after points 1 & 2.

Sneed retired because of his heath and the rest of your point are ridiculous and don't warrant comment.

I had not heard that about Snead. I just did a google search and didn’t see any news about retirement. It may be the case, but public info says he’s a free agent hoping to sign.

As for the last two points, I said it was a wishlist. Not a prediction. On his Friday podcast, Nick Underhill even mentioned the Carr to Pittsburgh possibility if Rodgers doesn’t come back.

Genuinely curious why anyone thinks the Saints could get anything at all for Rattler or Wilson, or even Carr. They aren't even worth a 7th

I believe the third QB doesn't cost a roster spot. We get to keep him on the sideline and if one of the first 2 are injured ,, the 3rd can then come in.

What is the trade value of whichever QB doesn't win the backup spot? Hot dog and a Dr Pepper?

Could be good value for the right price.

Cannot imagine we'd trade Wilson seconds after picking him up. Unless it was a "cut whoever loses between he and Rattler," and I'm not sure that's the plan. Haener doesn't exist, and Taysom I assume is gone. Essentially two QB's on roster? Doubtful.
