If it doesn't work, we grab Aaron Rodgers because LeDouche ran him off.
More like Rodgers is the douche because his ego is worse than Brett Favre's was at this stage, imo. I mean I could see this coming, this man (LaFleur) was tired of Aaron Rodger's shite, and did something about it. Lol I saw a couple of GB games last season and Rodgers spoke to the man like he was shite, as if he (Rodgers) was HC and LaFleur worked for him. Lol

If he means it and is willing to do the work, he might start for the Saints for the next decade.

Mr. Winston is from the Birmingham, AL, area, which is a market area for this franchise. That is to say, he's a "local kid" in some sense of the phrase.

Give him more than a fair shot. If he makes a bit of progress in a year, give him two years.

He's 26 years old. He is a man physically, but, mentally, he's still becoming a man.

I went to colllege with one of his family members that is from New Orleans. I don’t know how close they are now, but he does have relatives in the area as well.

Looking long term I'd rather 6-10 years of Taysom or 10-14 years of Winston over 2-3 years of Rodgers on the decline.

I don’t think Rodgers would be a good fit personality wise coming in after Brees, who is an incredible leader. That being said, this is just a dumb thing to say. Guy was 13-3 and in the NFC Championship game last year. Threw 4 int’s during the season.

The point is to put yourself in position to win championships. No way in hell I’m taking 10 years of mediocre qb play over 2 or 3 years of SB contention with a loaded roster and one of the most talented qb’s to ever play the game.

You would waste a loaded roster because Rodgers is a diva? That’s insane. Michael Jordan was a grade A a-hole. As long as guys are winning games and not being criminals off the field, what do I care if their teammates hate them. Tom Brady is a diva who constantly went after teammates and coaches on the sideline.

I dont see him and Sean getting along at all.

Why not? One of his biggest issues in GB is that he thought McCarthy was an idiot, which he was, and that GB wasn’t committed to surrounding him with weapons, which they weren’t and aren’t. I don’t think he would have those issues with Payton and the Saints.

Fans are hilarious. This thread has people trashing arguably the most talented qb ever to play, while also talking themselves into being all in on a guy who is a mental midget on the field, has had issues off the field, and has been a total disappointment as a qb, all because he signed with your team. It really is incredible how the mind of a fan works.

It’s like buying a lottery ticket based on the length and amount of the contract. You spend a dollar or two on a lottery ticket and you possibly win millions. If you don’t match any numbers, it’s no big deal bc it didn’t cost much.

You just compared signing Winston to the biggest scam on the planet, and meant it as a compliment.

If Payton can reach and get that light to click on this will go down as one of the most genius moves in Saints history...can't wait to see what happens with this move

I think it's VERY fair to say neither would have been nearly as successful without the other.

Actually, Sean Payton already had a history of working with QB's and being successful... but to your point, that is not the same as being the Head Coach...

So my point is that Sean already had a history of Success with QB's... he has merely added to that resume as a head coach imo...

bullshite. He signed with the Saints because PJ Williams is his buddy. My daughter lived in a townhouse right next to PJ and another DB in Tallahassee when she was a student at FSU. Winston accidentally knocked on my daughter's door one night about 2 AM. Just what every father wants to hear.

You think he signed with New Orleans because of one college buddy?

Winston just got married this off-season, so I am not sure that means too much. Maybe so though, but I do believe Winston is maturing.

Weeellll...Birmingham geograpically and culturally is really more in the Atlanta orbit, unlike say, Mobile, but we get the point.

He also had issues with his rookie head coach right from the start...its always someone elses fault. Alot of his own team mates have called him out for lack of accountability. He is an aging QB with attitude issues that seems to get hurt more and more.

I cant speak for everyone. But i wanted Jameis coming out of college (hey i didnt know Brees would still be playing.)

Look, he aint perfect by any stretch. But from all accounts he's changed alot. He's changed his diet and may be in the best shape of his career. Arians Raves about how he has matured. His team mates seem to love him and from a pure football standpoint ive never heard a bad thing about him as an actual team mate. Right now he is saying the right things and seemingly has a great attitude.

But go ahead...you clearly already have your mind made up. People can legit want to see Jameis do well and not just because he is a saint.
