Just remembered that he’s going to be coaching for a different team. Makes me sick to my stomach. It’s like seeing the girl that dumped you with a different guy. But luckily this time the new boyfriend is arguably a step down from you.

Wilson without a doubt, played beneath his contract last year. Was Payton really a qb whisperer or did he find a diamond in the rough with Drew?

I have a gut feeling that the Broncos won’t be that much better next year. I hope to God I’m right. Their division is going to be tough and they have the 9th hardest schedule

This seems excessive... although them finishing dead last is basically a late 1st round pick for us this year

There is nuance there. He was the QB coach when the Giants lost to the Ravens in the Superbowl with Kerry "Tall" Collins. Some saints fans might remember that when he played for us that "tall" nickname was because he loved his tall collins glass filled to the brim. Also that Giants team had Ike Hilliard. Nephew of Dalton Hilliard. Things went poorly after the Superbowl which is honestly pretty natural so he was fired.

Left and went to Cowboys to learn under Parcells. He would become one of Sean P's long term mentors. The other being Jon Gruden who was the OC at Philly before heading to the giants.

With the Cowboys, he managed to do well with Quincy Carter (lol), Vinny Testaverde (who had some moments but was an interception machine), and Bledsoe (final year of his career). Parcells has acknowledged that the reason they drafted Romo was because of Sean.

Parcells steered him away from the cowboys which is why the rumors of him going back there always made me laugh. I figured those rumors got bigger once his ex-wife moved there and Sean P was always flying there to see his children.

TL;DR - I feel like he's done very well with what he has had. Of course, it's a team sport so it's difficult to judge total team success since he is very hands off in terms of defense. I do think he is an offensive genius but I'm not sure what we can learn from a declining Russell Wilson who also seems to be focused on his image after he retires.

They aren't going to top the Chiefs.

The Chargers are pretty talented but poorly coached.

The Raiders are sort of an unknown.

He's going to crash and burn. He caught lightening in a bottle at the Saints and had the luxury of a top-5 all-time QB. At Denver, he's got Russ who is showing his age already.

He went 17-4 with Bridgewater, Taysom and Winston (2019-2021). Manny Sanders and Callaway were his best WRs in ‘20 & ‘21

Tough to be bearish on a CSP offense when he has Russ, Juedy, Sutton, and Javonte Williams at his disposal

You have 46 posts since 2012, Roger. Give it a rest. This is what gets you booed at the NFL drafts. You really are unlikable.

Russ of 2022 no.
Old Russ probably.

Until the mules go to the SB it doesn't concern me at all.
We got the #1 college recruit in the nation for CSP at a position of need when every lunk head around here said we were stupid to think we would get anything for him let alone a first rounder.
Hope Denver is on our schedule soon.

Tis a business. They don't give a fuq except for the best opportunity and the most amount of money. And you shouldn't/can't blame them.

I think Denver has a problem beyond just the coach. Last year they were terrible out of no where. It may be the scheme, it may be the players but they are now banking it was the scheme. SP is a good coach, but we all know he goes all in on his guys. It worked with Brees, will it work with Wilson? Was Wilson simply a system QB with Seattle? Time will tell but I would not think Denver will be the team to beat next year if I had to place bets.

FYI, Romo was an UDFA

That had at least 3 loses due to terrible game management at the end of the game. Unless SP wasted TOs on dumb challenges or late play calling, those 3 would have been wins; and with as bad as they were that would have had them 1 game out of playoffs. I can see him easily having them as a playoff team next year, but that is more about how bad Hackett was and not so much how good/great SP is.

I am not sold on Wilson and think he was a product of the Seattle system. But, I will be watching to see is Payton/Wilson can turn it around

There’s no doubt that CSP is one off, if not the best coach at drafting. I just cant see him sticking around long enough to fully develop the Broncos to his liking. If the Broncos cant make a decent playoff run in a few years I can definitely see him calling it quits after his contract. I’m very thankful for what he did for us but holy shite it would be hilarious to see him lose a few heartbreaking playoff loses on jaw dropping plays

Yeah I can’t see Wilson being super coachable at this point. If you’re butting heads with Pete Carroll, Sean Payton isn’t going to set you straight. He doesn’t have that Belichick-like personality that makes people fall in line

So do I. Between publicly admitting that he took the Saints HC job only after getting rejected from another teams HC position. Then learning that he was working the phone lines years ago to leave. Then standing flat footed in that press conference and lying about his future intentions. I don't hate him but I dislike his lack of character. If you're not with me than, you're against me. I wish him the worst this up coming season only because we stand to benefit from it. I am indifferent as concerning his future unless it directly affects me.
