He is our back up. He makes 10x less money than Carr, but plays only slight worse. Without the punt return I’m not convinced Carr wins that game. We’ve played in the 3 coin flip games against Tannehill and two first year starters. We paid $150 million on a QB who gives the ball to the other team as much as he puts it in the end zone (fact).. We can’t compete with Kansas City, Philadelphia, San Francisco etc. They are on another level. Carr is a bandaid and we are bleeding out. We need a reboot

There is a reason that the coaching staff puts on the brakes when Jameis comes in. They don't trust him to run the offense. So why is he still here? Either let him throw the ball or he cannot and they know that. None of that is good news for this team while Carr is out.

Turn him loose. Stop telling him that he cant run the offense. Let him play his game.

High Life made your exact post a little while ago. Are you the same person? Board took it down. Why are you flooding the board with duplicate posts?

Jameis with this O line = disaster waiting to happen. He makes the worst decisions when there is pressure, which he will have every play.

With this O line I’m starting Taysom 100%

Because he's utterly incompetent.

A buddy of mine works for the Saints, and told me that Jameis Winston was saying the wrong plays in the huddle, which would explain why the receivers kept running the wrong fricking routes

So Winston’s shortcomings go beyond what you see in his play

EVERY team limits their play calling when a backup is forced into action during a game.

Is Carr lighting it up with this offense? No. However, you saw a clear difference in the productivity of it when he was in there vs when Winston was. The O became nonexistent once Carr was out.

There was one play in particular where he had a 7 yard drop back, and the OL gave him good protection. His feet were doing the happy dance, and he didn't step up into the pocket like he's supposed to. LDE was properly blocked by RT; however, by Winston not stepping up he remained in the path of the LDE since the purpose of the LT is to block him deep behind the line.

Result: Winston rushed his throw and ruined a great opportunity.

This is who he is.

We all know people here don't like facts. 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. People are acting like Carr is Brees.

The offense is dog shite with the guy they "trust" to run the offense. I'm not saying Jameis is the best QB in the league. But with the current OL and OC being angry because the backup struggled is misplaced. NO backup in the league could perform much better.

Not sure how much I believe this but the receivers were all over the place when he came in. Something that I don't remember seeing when Carr was in.

He had us in feild goal.range to win the game.
Why isn't everybody on the kicked arse for missing a game winner.
Jamies fired some important passes in there with the game on the line.
The other 3 drives were D.A. playing not to win and that's what happened.

I mean if you want to get technical the stats through the first 2.5 games as a Saint starter are pretty similar for Drew and Carr
