He missed 1of every 3 games of his college career.
Missing that many games is a red flag when you have a top ten pick.
If we traded down to the 20’s and took him, I’d be good with it. But, he is way too risky in the top ten

It's very simple. The Saints have been burned quite often picking guys with an injury past, hoping for the best but not working out. And now with the #8 pick they should have the opportunity to pick from several candidates, all with the potential to be impactful and without a history of injuries.

Yeah, super burned by Shough. Damn.
Davenport had no injury concerns heading into the draft. All of that was pro injuries.
The vast majority of "injury concern" players we took were flyers in the latter rounds (4th on).
How many players have we taken in the top 3 rounds had injury concerns that we were burned by? I hear this constantly but all people point to is the usually very wrong example of Davenport.
If we are going to point to the one other example that gets pointed to, Turner's pro injuries were wholly different than his college ones. He's just like Davenport where all his pro injuries had nothing to do with what happened in college.

Just the 8 I would imagine.

ESPN was talking about this today. The analyst comments were that he as missed 1/3 of his games and you usually don’t get healthier when you move up to a 17 game season and have tougher competition.
One analyst did say that some guys learn how to take care of themselves better in the pros, but that many injuries is concerning.
There’s been some people questioning his “toughness” recently too. I think McShay did a really good breakdown below. The ASU coach has come out the past day or so clapping back on that narrative. So it’s a legit concern.

Were the injuries related to each other?

Hamstrings could be related to the knee. Or not taking care of his body

I've seen no indication that several years post knee injury that there is any indication of this

Certainly possible, it was what happened to Lattimore.
That is easily corrected

Broken bones don’t count
But I agree that bone injuries (unless it's something through genetics or a type of injury that has a high rate of getting reinjured like a lot of foot stuff), are no where near the concern of muscle injuries, and cartilage injuries aren't the near career killers they once were either (as long as it gets properly repaired).
There's very few injuries/medical issues that will actually raise a medical red flag, and most are because of genetics or very specific injuries.

Injuries have made him afraid to get hit. He always goes down after a catch or steps out of bounds

It's not a concern to me.
He's the WR I would take as I think he's clearly better than the others.
I wouldn't complain if we drafted him at 8.

If you draft in the top 10 the guy who’s red flagged for being often injured and in the league he ends up being often injured, you’re an idiot.
Especially when your other stud WR is regularly sidelined. It’s just a dumb rísk to take for a team that has a lot of needs.

I desperately want a wr early. I’d roll the dice on him bc he’s an absolute fuggin stud. Tried to watch Leavitts highlights when he committed to LSU and half of it was Tyson showing his arse out there . I’d take the chance for the upside alone but I’m not mad if we go defense either. If he tumbles bc of the injury concerns someone is going to get an insane value late if he manages to stay healthy. Hes an extremely talented wr and better than Tate or lemon by a wide margin imo.

Both hammys injured. Pass.

assume you’re referring to Turner as well.
That’s it. My mind went to Peyton Houston the LSU QB commit lol
I’m not saying either has anything to do directly with Tyson. I’m saying with the 8th overall pick I wouldn’t feel warm and fuzzy taking a dude who’s been hurt that many times due to my PTSD with recent picks.
Second round, sure.
I’m sure there are a few examples but it just doesn’t seem like dudes who have injury issues in college are all of a sudden durable in the NFL
