Sorry, but a pretty dumb question. Graham was a no talent TE, with great size, in a TE friendly scheme. He could not spell YAC, much less understand it’s ok to run a little after the catch. You want to compare him to MT ? Really ?

wut

You can even group his stat finishes in with WRs:

2011 - 7th in the league in YAC, 3rd in 1st Downs, 5th in 20+ yard catches

2012 - 14st in YAC, 7th in first downs, 9th in 20+ yard catches

2013 - 9th in YAC, 5th in first downs, 4th in 20+ yard catches

2014 - 18th in YAC, 8th in first downs, 16th in 20+ yard catches

10mil annual in an era of 130mil cap
20mil annual in an era of 190mil cap

Financially, Graham wins.
Yards, Mike is more valuable.
TDs, Graham was a mismatch.

But where it is significantly different in yards per target and catch rate. Mike is far away better. Graham was better in the quick strike saints. Thomas is better in the ball control saints

Thomas has a better catch rate bc his air yards per target is low - 7.7 yards - he’s catching high percentage throws. 92% of his targets are deemed catchable - Drew is not missing those throws. Which is fine, that’s what both guys excel at. Brees is throwing 56% of his passes short of the chains these days

WRs with more than 50 targets with worse air yards/target than Michael Thomas (7.7 yards):

Jarius, Treadwell, Humhpries, Tate, Amendola, Enunwa, Beasley. That's it.

WRs with better: 89
TEs with better: 15

Two of Jimmy Graham’s season here resulting him leading TE in 25+ yard receptions. He was at the top of receiving yards on balls traveling 20+ yards in the air. His playmaking skills trump Thomas as far as getting down the field and in the RZ

Agreed?

And agree?

I'm not disagreeing with either. You literally elaborated on it. But Thomas and Graham bring two completely different things to the team.

Thomas' game is all about making sure you get yards to keep things moving. Graham's game is playmaking to strike at you quick and in chunks.

If I could have 2013 Graham at 2013 price in 2019, Graham. That’s a steal today

Kind of an odd thread. You ask a question and considering you've been posting on here a long time, you should give your answer in the op.

Instead, you wait for people to reply so you can insult them

Wtf

Michael Thomas is the easy answer, but alot of ppl are downplaying Jimmy and how much of an impact he had on every game he played in. Dude was ELITE in the passing game in his time here. He was the best redzone weapon in the league at that time and made Drews life very easy. People saying stuff like "he was solid" either hold a grudge against him or have a faulty memory.

I think Cook is gonna be as close to Jimmy Graham as we've had at TE since he left and pairing that kinda mismatch at TE to Kamara and Thomas will make us damn near unstoppable, if the OL and Murray stay healthy. Like this offense could surpass 2009 and 2011.

JG was a no blocking TE that got alligator arms whenever he got into traffic. That's the opposite of Michael Thomas.

Remember that time against our arch rivals at home with the playoffs on the line when Michael Thomas got the ball stripped at the goal line by a DB that had to weight at least 50 LBs less than him?

Oh wait, that was Graham.

Dude is soft.
