I was all for Baker on the cheap. Wish we had. Even if he sucked we could still draft a QB early.

This board would have been in complete meltdown if the Saints had signed Baker Mayfield in free agency last year. Mayfield is not the difference between which team made the playoffs, Carr not getting knocked out of the Packers game or Grupe not missing a game winning kick would have made this argument moot.

I believe Tampa played possum against the Saints knowing they had Carolina to close out the season and win the division.

You're right. But that the Saints' front office thought Carr was the guy to get the Saints back to the promised land and then saw fit to give him that monster contract...plenty of people knew that was a shite plan.

Pretty sure without knowing how this season would go, most people would have chosen Carr over Baker.

I was hoping the Saints signed Baker for cheap for a couple of years through the teardown and drafting of a QB with a high 1st round pick. Dennis Allen is why the Saints couldn't win the crappy division this season.

you’re an idiot, tampa almost lost that game. Yeah—they wanted to skip a bye week and not win the division at home

Why do you think this was a unilateral decision? Chances are, they both had input.
