It's 4 games, not 16 games

He's right. We could have drafted Guice, let Ingram sit out his suspension, and then trade Ingram to the Chiefs for Kelce.

All. Problems. Solved.

Right here.

100 downvotes, OP, that's impressive. I'm guessing that really answers your question.

Here's is the craziest part. In this loons head we should have taken a RB that everyone passed on in the first round over the DE we took that has one of the highest ceilings of anyone coming out in 2018. For a position where we have the returning rookie of the year because our other pro-bowl back got suspended for the first 4 games.

How you make that leap in logic is astounding.

Here

Look, I was a big Guice fan at LSU. I won't be surprised if he does well in Washington and eventually becomes a starter.

But, team success is about dynamics as much as ability. Don't think Guice fits into what the Saints have here. He doesn't bring the power game that Ingram does. He wouldn't be the big brother to Kamara that Ingram is. And given that there's already been some drama with him before the draft even started, I wouldn't be surprised if he was involved in more as a pro, which is something we don't need.
Good luck to the kid, but I'm good with what we have, even now.

Guice cannot match Ingram as a receiver in this offense. And then Guice plays are telegraphed.

Its well known that RB’s have to be able to run routes and catch, and learn the offense as a route runner in SP’s offense. We struggle when our RB isnt a threat to run a route out the backfield. Thats why Peterson sucked last year but Kamara/Ingram rolled. And its why Ingram wasnt nearly as good early in his career when he wasnt a good receiver etc. Apart of the issue is that our offense is so intricate.

So Ingram is def > Guice as far as the saints RB needs, for the near future.

Now on another team Guice may be > Ingram.

It’s arguable that Guice could learn to be a better receiver etc. but that would take some time.

I'd still take a suspended Ingram over that fish faced jack off.

This is an "LSU" oriented website which only included the Saints as an addition. LSU fans have the right to wish their players were playing for the Saints.

Yeah I mean how dare people make a determination about which back we prefer based on the facts on the ground at the time.
