Doesn't matter what record ends up being, win division host a playoff game as a 4 seed, probably will have worse record of division winners

Objectively, making the playoffs is one of the worst things that could happen to us.

D.A. Gets us an extension? 7-10 gets us to playoffs. We are like an NBA team now. Hooray mediocrity!

dumb. Cold hard logic tells you actively trying to miss the playoffs every year is factually the better outcome?

There are busts at the top of the draft every year and tanking will only create a disgruntled locker room that will take 10 years to fix.

Anything can happen once we get in

Whether we’re in the playoffs or not sweeping changes aren’t gonna be made.

this is what people don't understand. we have no way to alleviate our cap except to restructure and add more years to players already on the roster. best to just root for the Saints at this point. we couldn't rebuild if we wanted to.

Regardless, should
we make playoffs and win that first game, there would be some satisfaction to beat a team like, Seattle, Dallas, or Vikings with a worse record than theirs. Especially Seattle, kind of karma

Same way it hurt the Seahawks in 2010 when they beat us with a 7-9 squad.

The Seahawks didnt do squat after that right?

Other than win the SB fricking moron.

You watch too much nba. The NFL draft is too much of a crap shoot to tank.

it's as tough as ever.

I was able to find acceptance quicker in the Ditka years than now. Now it's just a tease because of the salary cap and who can do what with what they have.

I don't trust the Saints brass at all.

root for what we have is all we got.

No man's land.

This. Hiring Dennis Allen told us all the front office is stuck and can’t move on. I don’t think they win the division though.

It isn't opinion based at all. Purely objective.

What percentage of coaches that make the playoffs in their 2nd year are fired?

Statistically, extremely few, making the chances of a coach being fired in that situation slim.

couple that with:

Dennis Allen has one of the worst winning percentages for the amount of games he has coached IN NFL History.

Objectively, he is a bad HC.

Therefore, our chances of keeping an objectively bad HC are higher making the playoffs than not.

Nothing subjective about it.

So, literally objective.

I was not even thinking about draft picks. Purely the odds regarding firing a coach.

Making the playoffs only because you're in a historically bad division isn't good long-term.

We need better draft picks.

We have already created a roster that will take 10 years to fix due to shitty cap management and contracts.

Imagine being prohibited from adding real talent on top of that, and you get why bunchie is correct.
