What would you guys think of the Mannings buying the Saints?

I personally would love it. We would finally have some owners that are passionate about football and passionate about winning, instead of one that mostly sees it as a business opportunity.

They can't afford it.

Idk they’d have to outbid drew Brees, it eojld certainly be interesting to watch!

Archie is just a regular average level rich dude. He doesn’t have shite compared to an NFL owner type. Same for Cooper Manning...below average rich dude.
Peyton and Eli are Above average rich dude class, but still below at least 4 other categories of rich dude class.
It takes more than 2 above average rich dudes, an avg rich dude, and a below avg rich dude to come close to being NFL owners bro. It’s 2018 not 1960.

Even if Archie, Peyton, Eli, and Cooper were to pool all of their money together, they would not come close. You guys cannot comprehend the difference between multi-millionaire and billionaire. It would take a billionaire to buy an NFL Franchise.

If I had a dime for every time this thread was started, I could be a member of their ownership group

frick the Manning’s but sounds about right, have an owner that circumvents the draft process.

The family that pissed and moaned about where Eli was drafted until he was traded and has had multiple commentators tell them to stop calling them and asking them to go easy on Payton and Eli and grew up in this city and then left and didn't do shite for it?
And also doesn't have nearly enough money or power to do so?
No thanks. frick the Mannings. Cooper is cool though.

Why do all of y'all think the saints franchise is worth like $20 million?
Posted on 1/25/18 at 6:51 am to Breesus
Yeah and their restaurant in New Orleans sucks.

To put this in perspective for some of yall:
Drew Brees makes 25 million dollars a year before taxes.
He'd have it play and get paid that same amount for 40 more years and not pay income tax, and save every penny just to be able to bid on the franchise minimum value.
If his income tax is 40% he'd have to play for something like 65 more years just to he able to bid the MINIMUM.
Like Chris Rock once said there's a difference between rich and wealthy. Shaquille O'Neil is rich. The guy who signs his checks is wealthy. Same thing here.

Nail on head, Chris. Pro athletes are millionaires. People who own teams are billionaires.
Posted on 1/25/18 at 7:48 am to cbree88
I'd rather Todd Graves buy the team

Jeff Bezos/Zuckerberg rich is what you need to buy a team outright
Oprah rich is what you need to be a majority owner
Jerry Seinfeld (net worth 800 million) rich is what you need to get in the 40% ownership range of a team
After those three tiers you get into the manning net worth combined

I don't think people really understand how much money 2 billion dollars is.
Posted on 1/25/18 at 9:25 am to Laaz2750
Exactly.
It's 1,000 one millions.
Twice.

This got me looking up nearby billionaires as potential buyers.
Louisiana only has one billionaire: Tom Benson (& Gayle).
Texas has 48.
Mississippi has 0.
But Louisiana ranks 24th in the nation with 65,000 millionaires, so there's the potential for a cajun group investment if billionaire heiress Gayle ever decides to sell.
