I lived in memphis at the time and my dad lived in Mandeville. He told me to come down with my 3 brothers cause he had tickets to the saints vs cowboys. We went and found ourselves holding our fingers up for tickets cause he lied just to get us down to see him. I ended up watching the game on a single ticket purchase in a cowboy section of the dome. The saints also lost. That was my first game. lol

And yes, I am an older-fart.
Same here.

It was against the Rams at Tulane Stadium, either late 60's or very early 70's. There was some kind of cannon shooting in the end zone at halftime and one of the guys loading the cannon was injured. That's about all I remember. Also, they must have been giving the tickets away. We were so poor I don't know how my dad could afford them.

Oct '71 in Astrodome vs. Oilers. Tie game.
First in Tulane stadium, Nov '72 vs. Rams. We won. I remember 2 things the most: The fans cheered every player at introductions, but when coach JD Roberts' name was announced, the BOOS were loud and long. 2) Our kicker was named Happy Feller.

I was in the north endzone, Gilliam ran right toward us. I thought we were destined for greatness. I was also in the north endzone for Dempsey's kick 11/8/70, and Awchy's 1st game, a last second win against the Rams.
Beer was $.50 a cup and the reason for many fights in the cheap endzone seats. I practically grew up in Tulane Stadium and knew every nook of the place.

In 1967 I was ten years old.My dad had season tickets from 1967-69. We sat on the east side near the dressing rooms. We has seats on the 26 yard line just to the side of the entrance to the stadium. We would wait under the stadium and watch the players go out to warm up without their pads. I always watched for Doug Atkins as he was huge. My most vivid memory was of the Eagles Joe Scarpati. He was unshaven, his face looked like you could light a match on it, and he was barely taller than I was. The first game vs. the Rams was something. The Saints made the game of football look easy for about 15 seconds on that September day. Deacon Jones and the Rams put them in their place very soon however. That was a great Ram team that year. I still remember watchng them vs. the Packers when they won on a blocked punt. I was for the Packers in that game. Then in the playoffs I was for the Rams but the Packers and Travis Williams tore them up.

Saints vs Chargers 1979. It was like 36 - 0 Chargers at halftime and that's what it finished up.

1998 against the Patriots. I remember we were 3-0 going into the game. I think it was Vinateiri made a field goal with 5 seconds left and Patriots won 30-27

My first Saints game was the last week of 1980 when the Patriots came to town and beat the Saints 38-27. The dome was almost empty that day.

I went to the first game for the Saints franchise. It was at Tulane Stadium and it was packed with 85,000 people. On the opening kickoff of the game, the Saints ran it back for 90 yds for the score. They eventually lost the game. I forgot the opponent.
