You can grab some pretty good players in the third and fourth round.

The third was 98th overall. So it was a compensatory pick.

Why did Greenberg say we didn’t give up any of our tonight picks? Said we gave up 2nd and 3rd

Looks like this years 3 and 4. Picks 16, 98, and 120 for Olave.

I was hoping we'd get away from trading up. That hurts us in the long run.

And what did it cost us next year???
Posted on 4/28/22 at 8:38 pm to couv1217
Because we didn’t. We swapped from 16 to 11. That’s not giving it up and we still have 19

I lost track of how many picks the Saints gave up to get the #11 pick.

Sort of, but most believe Saints strategy for collecting another 1st rounder this year was to help “win now” with instant impact players.
Definitely didn’t want to take chances and miss out on a guy they really liked apparently

I think he meant we kept two 1st rounders. He worded it awkwardly.

They already traded picks to get to #16. Is that correct?
Then they traded more picks to get to go from #16 to 11?
I always rather quality over a bunch of picks...but dang.
Maybe this is a variation of the Rams model.

From Yahoo live board:

Our first trade! The Saints wheeled into the 16 and 19 slots before the draft and landed this pick from the Commanders on the clock, sending Nos. 16, 98 and 110 overall to get it done.
