Just wondering when people started saying we might have a very special player here.

After Sunday's game where he ripped the #1 defense for 5TDs

Seriously, the 8-minute game-ending game-winning drove vs. the Eagles.

Hadn’t seen anything like that from the Saints before that day.

His probowl season in 04 the year they drafted Rivers was his 1st pro coming out party. He proved he was a NFL franchise QB.

Leading the 2nd worst team in football to the NFCCG was his 2nd. Beating the Eagles/Cowboys that year was his coming out parties signaling he might be special.

And butt fricking the Pats in 09 is when he began his I am a future HOF'er ascent

yeah that was the game I mentioned earlier. I thought we were gonna take it easy with brees who was known as more of a game manager and let deuce and bush handle alot of the load. they let brees roll in that game and havent stopped since.

In his first game, he led the game-winning drive down the field to beat the Browns. I remember that like it was yesterday

TBH, it was the first (or second?) game of the 2006 season at Cleveland. After all the crap the franchise had been through with Ditka, Haslett, and Katrina, watching the Saints come back on the road to win was pretty memorable. Brees, Colston, Bush, Fujita, etc. Had no idea what that game would lead to, but the Domecoming game shortly thereafter definitely gave me the tingling sensation.

This was it. This was when the doubts started melting away, and the hopes started turning into realities.

While the Domecoming Game in 2006 was memorable for a bevy of reasons, Drew's actual "coming out party" was @ Dallas toward the end of the season. He threw the ball all over the field in an absolute dismantling of Parcells and the Cowboys. His performance, and that game, signaled the arrival of the Saints as a contender.

His breakout season was actually probably in 2004, when he led the Chargers to 12-4, they won their division for the first time in like 10 years, and he was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time. He also won Comeback Player of the Year.

That Dallas game in 2006 was so much fun to watch. It put to rest any doubt whether the Saints were for real that year.

The Cleveland game was refreshing to see because Drew and the offense didn't really shine in the preseason from what I remember. Still it was only the first game. Could they pull off another road win against a tougher opponent?

No one really expected us to go up to Green Bay and win. What a nice surprise that was. Drew had a presence on the field unlike any QB I had seen for the Saints up to that point. I thought to myself we might finally have one of those guys... the elite QBs like Steve Young that used to always tear up the Saints while we'd try to fight back with a bunch of clowns playing QB.
