He's not Dalton or Winston and that/s an improvement

He’s a decent qb who has played really well at times and below average to poor at times. He’s not going to get you to the sb unless you have a loaded roster like SF or maybe the Jets.

91.8 career QBR and 3 probowls.

What am I missing here? I like dolphins and bills' rosters better than jets in afc east. Obviously tua's health could flip jets and dolphins

He’s a qb similar to Matt Stafford.
Great numbers ina few seasons, an average of 25tds/11 pics a year consistently.
Played with a bunch of different Coaches and OC’s with this level of sustained success.
Never had a defense to play with that was top 20/15.
And has a lot of 4th quarter comeback wins and drives for wins.
91.8 career QBR and 4 probowls.

He's good enough to lead the team to a few NFC South championships.

Jets have two excellent very young WRs. Good lines especially defense, and an elite young rb (albeit coming off injury).

Best available option to get the team to the next level. And as weak as the NFC looks right now, shouldn’t take an All-Pro to be a SB contender. Doubtful they’d be one with this staff, but the NFC is weak

By all accounts, he is a leader of men. Even with alpha male SP, we sorely missed that in the QB position the last two seasons.

Ok. I think in a different year with diffeeent options we probably would look past Carr. That being said. He has a great arm. He can sling it and when he is feeling it can easily throw for over 300 a game.
He has been inconsistent though on crappy teams. Could be a diamond in the rough and worth a shot.
The biggest draw back to Carr is the amount of money that will have to be invested in him.

If you don't get him, what's the path to getting one?

He’s a better than average QB that has been with an incredibly unstable franchise with some really bad players.
Other options are below average QBs (Dalton, Mayfield, etc.) or unknown draft pick QB.
Only reason most rational people don’t want Carr is because of money. The other people who don’t want him want to tank.
If want a good QB, you have to pay for them. Even if you draft them. We aren’t in that much different of a cap situation than a bunch of other NFL teams. I’d rather try to be good than try to suck.
